World Senior Curling Championships
The World Senior Curling Championships is an annual curling tournament featuring curlers from around the world who are at least 50 years old. Matches at the World Senior Championships are played in 8 ends played instead of the 10 played in most international events. The tournament began in 2002 with only 7 men's teams and 4 women's teams but has since expanded. Scottish Mixed Curling Championship
The Scottish Mixed Curling Championship is the national mixed curling championship for Scotland. Team are composed of two men and two women, playing in alternating positions up the team, meaning the lead and third must be of the same gender, and likewise the second and fourth players. The championship has been held annually since 1976. From 2005 to 2014 the winners progressed to represent Scotland at the European Mixed Curling Championship. Since 2015 the winners have represented Scotland at the World Mixed Curling Championship. The current champions are Luke Carson, Kirsten Bousie, Mark Taylor and Katie McMillan, who went on to win their round robin group in the 2019 World Mixed Curling Championship, 2019 World Mixed Championship before losing to Germany in the quarterfinals. Team Carson beat out six other teams to claim the 2019 Championship, which was contested between 24 and 26 May at The Peak in Stirling. Mike Hay is a Scottish curler and curling coach. As a player, he had success from 1982 to 1996. He went on to coach the women's team that won gold in Curling at the 2002 Winter Olympics and, partly due to this, was appointed as an MBE in 2004. He later served as Britain's Olympic performance manager at the 2010 Winter Olympics. After this he became Chef de Mission for Team GB for the 2014 Winter Olympics, a role he also held at the 2018 Winter Olympics. He is brother to David Hay and son of curler Chuck Hay.
