Huff House
The Huff House was for decades the oldest house in the city of Atlanta. It was located at the northeast corner of Huff Road and Ellsworth Industrial Avenue. at 1133 Huff Road NW (old numbering, 70 Huff Road NW) in Blandtown, part of what is today West Midtown, overlooking the site of the Battle of Peachtree Creek. It was the family home of Sara Huff, the author of the memoir ''My 80 Years in Atlanta''. Jeremiah Huff built the house of pine and brick in 1854 or 1855 over the remnants of an 1830s log cabin. It was razed in 1954 to make way for the Rushton Toy Factory building. This was covered on the front page of the Atlanta paper at the time. Perennial Properties bought the factory site in 2006, demolished the factory in 2008, and the Apex West Midtown residential development is now located at the site. Checkers (American English), also known as draughts (; British English), is a group of strategy board games for two players which involve diagonal moves of uniform game pieces and mandatory captures by jumping over opponent pieces. Airway Clearance Therapy
Airway clearance therapy is treatment that uses a number of airway clearance techniques to clear the respiratory airways of mucus and other secretions. Several respiratory diseases cause the normal mucociliary clearance mechanism to become impaired resulting in a build-up of mucus which obstructs breathing, and also affects the cough reflex. Mucus build-up can also cause infection, and inflammation, and repeated infections can result in damage to the airways, and the lung tissue. All airway clearance therapy involves the techniques of coughing, or huffing that need to be used in conjunction with another airway clearance technique. Hamilton Underground Film Festival
The Hamilton Underground Film Festival was an annual film festival held in Hamilton, New Zealand between 2006 and 2013. Run on the basis of a DIY ethos the festival was open to all and had no admission fee for film entries. Each entrant received a DVD which contains all the entered films. The festival was the longest running festival of its kind in Australasia until recent usurped by the Melbourne underground film festival. There was a yearly section for experimental fone films, Super 8 mm film and subverts. Huff's Store
Huff's Store is a general store in Burwood, Tennessee. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is a one-story building with a hipped roof that was built in 1911. The store is one of the last general stores still operating in Middle Tennessee. It was owned and operated by Kenneth E. Huff, one of eight children in the Huff family, which acquired the store in 1937, until his death on May 23, 2014. His son, Charlie Huff now operates the store. A brother, Glenn Huff, operated a store in Brentwood called Huff's Grocery. In a 1988 study of historic resources in Williamson County, Huff's Store was evaluated to be one of the "two best remaining store buildings from the early 20th century" outside of Franklin (along with the Thompson Store at Duplex). Huff Memorial Library
The Huff Memorial Library is a historic library located at 320 South King Street in Jackson, Wyoming. The single-story log library was built by the Works Progress Administration between 1938 and 1940. The library replaced the city's first library, which had been established in St. John's House in 1915 but had become too small for the city by the 1930s. Jackson's Lions Club, along with several other community groups, began to work to bring a county library to the city. The WPA approved the city's proposal for a library in 1938, and it was built over the next two years. The library was named after Charles Huff, the city's only physician for over twenty years. The county library relocated to a new building in 1997, and the old library became a county office building. . Huff Hall is a 4,050-seat multi-purpose arena in Champaign, Illinois, United States. The arena opened in 1925 and was known as Huff Gymnasium until the 1990s. It is named after George Huff (baseball), George Huff, who was the school's athletic director from 1895 to 1935. Huff Hall is home to the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, University of Illinois Illinois Fighting Illini, Fighting Illini volleyball and wrestling teams.
