Danuphyu Township ( my, ဓနုဖြူမြို့နယ်) is a township of Maubin District in the Ayeyarwady Region of Burma (Myanmar). Danubyu Township is known as the death place of the general Maha Bandula at Danubyu Fort effectively ending the First Anglo-Burmese War by forcing the Burmese to surrender to the British. Hlaingthaya Township ( my, လှိုင်သာယာ မြို့နယ်, ; also spelt Hlaing Tharyar Township) is located in the western part of Yangon, Myanmar. It was one of the biggest township in the country and it was also the most populated township. The township comprised 20 wards and nine village tracts and shared borders with Htantabin Township in the north and west, Insein Township, Mayangon Township, and Hlaing Township in the east across the Yangon River, and Twante Township in the south.
