Howie Pyro
Howie Pyro (born Howard Kusten, June 28, 1960 – May 4, 2022) was an American bass player. He was a founding member of The Blessed, Freaks, D Generation, and PCP Highway. Pyro was also the bass player in Danzig from 2000–2003. Biography Pyro was a DJ at Green Door parties. He was the host of ''Intoxica Radio with Howie Pyro'', an internet radio show where he played "50s and 60s rock and roll, psycho surf, garage, rockabilly, hillbilly horrors, voodoo r & b, insane instrumentals, religious nuts, and teenage hell music." Pyro was also friends with Sid Vicious and was one of the last people to see the former Sex Pistols bassist alive; Pyro was there the night he died from a heroin overdose. In December 2021, it was announced that Pyro was fighting for his life and in recovery following a liver transplant. ''No Lunch'' is the second album by New York City glam punk band D Generation. It was their first for Columbia Records. The album was produced by Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The album would prove to be D Generation's most critically acclaimed, with reviewers citing New York Dolls and Ramones as strong influences. "No Way Out," "She Stands There," and "Capital Offender" were taken from the record as singles, with promotional videos recorded and released for the first two. Tracks 3, 5, 8 and 12 are re-recorded versions of songs that appeared on their previous album. The opening track, "Scorch," was a new recording of a song that had appeared on the 1995 ''Flipside: R.A.F.R. ''compilation album. ''Danzig 777: I Luciferi'' () is the seventh album from Danzig. It was released in 2002 on Glenn Danzig's Evilive label and distributed by Spitfire Records. Danzig stated that this album was the last in a series of seven numbered albums, each with its own general concept. Over the months following the tour for this album, each of the other band members left to pursue other projects. Most notably, Joey Castillo joined Queens of the Stone Age; he appeared on Danzig's eleventh studio album '' Black Laden Crown'' (2017), but did not officially rejoin Danzig. ''Live on the Black Hand Side'' is a double-disc live album by American heavy metal band Danzig. It was recorded at various shows between 1992 and 2000 (including Danzig's infamous Halloween '92 show at Irvine Meadows, CA), and was released in 2001 on Glenn Danzig's Evilive Records label, distributed by Restless Records. It is the first official, full-length live album from the band, however, the 1993 EP, ''Thrall-Demonsweatlive'' and select CD singles have featured live material. In fact, ''Thrall-Demonsweatlive,'' includes four additional live tracks from the Halloween '92 show that are not included on this release. The original, studio version of the song "Halloween II" was recorded by Glenn Danzig's first band, the Misfits.
