Howard Jay Phillips (February 3, 1941 – April 20, 2013) was an American politician and activist. A political conservative, Phillips was a United States presidential candidate who served as the chairman of The Conservative Caucus, a conservative public policy advocacy group which he founded in 1974. Phillips was a founding member of the U.S. Taxpayers Party, which later became known as the Constitution Party. Personal life Phillips was born into a Jewish family in Boston in 1941, Phillips converted to evangelical Christianity as an adult in the 1970s and was subsequently associated with Christian Reconstructionism. A 1962 graduate of Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was twice elected chairman of the Student Council, and was lauded by “The Cross and the Flag,” a Ku Klux Klan magazine, for his “patriotic” ideological bent. Howard Phillips is an American video game consultant and producer best known as an early employee of and spokesman for Nintendo of America in the 1980s. Initially a boat painter, Phillips started his video game career as manager of Nintendo of America's first Tukwila warehouse in 1981. He managed relations with the retail sites of the 1985 test launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System, gaining insight into which games were popular. Because of his gameplay aptitude and formative experience in Nintendo's then-nascent expansion in North America, his roles grew to spokesperson, manager of the Game Counselor hotline, and co-editor of ''Nintendo Power'' magazine. After leaving Nintendo in 1991, his video game work included Microsoft, Chair Entertainment, and GameDuell. Howard Phillips (cricketer)
Howard William Phillips (20 April 1872 — 17 March 1960) was an English first-class cricketer. Phillips was born on the Isle of Wight at St Helens in April 1872. He made his debut in first-class cricket for Hampshire against Leicestershire at Bournemouth in the 1898 County Championship. He played irregularly for Hampshire until 1902, making five appearances. In these, he scored 53 runs with a highest score of 40. Shortly after his final match for Hampshire, Phillips emigrated to South Africa. There he played first-class cricket for Border, making his debut against Transvaal at King William's Town in March 1907. He played for Border until 1913, making twelve first-class appearances, eight of which came in the Currie Cup. For Border, he scored 223 runs at an average of 11.15, with a highest score of 47. Howard Baron Phillips
Mary Katherine Linaker (July 19, 1913 – April 18, 2008) was an American actress and screenwriter who appeared in many B movies during the 1930s and 1940s, most notably ''Kitty Foyle'' (1940) starring Ginger Rogers. Linaker used her married name, Kate Phillips, as a screenwriter, notably for the cult movie hit ''The Blob'' (1958). She is credited with coining the name "The Blob" for the movie, which was originally titled "The Molten Meteor". Biography Linaker was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and graduated from a private school in Connecticut and from New York University. She went on to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
