Howard Edelson
Howard Edelson (born April 25, 1960) is an American political strategist, campaign manager, and regular political media commentator. Edelson is the founding partner of Michigan-based political consulting business, The Edelson Group. He was the campaign manager for former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm's successful 2006 re-election campaign. Michigan State University
Michigan State University (Michigan State, MSU) is a public university, public Land-grant university, land-grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan. It was founded in 1855 as the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan, the first of its kind in the United States. It is considered a Public Ivy, or a public institution which offers an academic experience similar to that of an Ivy League university. After the introduction of the Morrill Land-Grant Acts, Morrill Act in 1862, the state designated the college a land-grant institution in 1863, making it the first of the land-grant colleges in the United States. The governor of Michigan, is the head of government of Michigan and serves as the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces. Jennifer Granholm
Jennifer Mulhern Granholm (born February 5, 1959) is a Canadian-American lawyer, educator, author, political commentator, and politician serving as the 16th United States secretary of energy since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the 47th governor of Michigan from 2003 to 2011, and as the attorney general of Michigan from 1999 to 2003, as the first woman to hold both offices. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Granholm moved to California at age four. Milton Robert Carr
Milton Robert Carr, commonly known as Bob Carr, (born March 27, 1943) is an American lawyer, academic, and politician from the U.S. state of Michigan. Carr served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan's 6th and 8th congressional districts for eight terms and one term, respectively. Carr's career in the U.S. House had a two-year hiatus in which he had lost his seat to Jim Dunn in 1980 before being reelected to Congress in 1982. Following his career in Congress, Carr became of counsel at a Washington, D.C.-based communications law firm in 2005. He is involved with the United States Association of Former Members of Congress, where he serves on the board of directors. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is a public-private partnership agency and economic development corporation dedicated to job creation in the U.S. state of Michigan. Operating under the slogan "Pure Michigan", the MEDC attempts to encourage the tourism potential of the state and foster business relocations to Michigan. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is the successor-in-interest of the Michigan Jobs Commission, created in 1993. The Commission was translated into the Development Corporation in 1999.
