How Far We've Come
"How Far We've Come" is a song by American alternative rock group Matchbox Twenty. It was released in September 2007 as the lead single from their retrospective collection, ''Exile on Mainstream'', which was released on October 2, 2007. The music video premiered on VH1's ''Top 20 Countdown'' on September 1, 2007. The CD single comes with two live covers as B-sides; " Remedy" by The Black Crowes and " Modern Love" by David Bowie. These two songs are also on the Best Buy version of ''Exile on Mainstream''. The Phonographic Performance Company of Australia announced that "How Far We've Come" was the most played recording in Australia in 2008. The PPCA also announced that Matchbox Twenty was the third most played artist in 2008. Matchbox Twenty (also known as Matchbox 20 and MB20) is an American rock band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. The group currently consists of Rob Thomas (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Brian Yale (bass guitar), Paul Doucette (drums, rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Kyle Cook (lead guitar, vocals). Matchbox Twenty rose to international fame with their debut album, ''Yourself or Someone Like You'' (1996), which was certified 12× Platinum (diamond) in the United States and multi-platinum in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Paul Cashmere is an Australian entrepreneur, broadcaster, music journalist and media executive. In 1995 he founded the digital music CD-ROM magazine, ''Undercover'', with Australian photographer and domestic partner, Ros O'Gorman (1960–2018). In September 2011 the pair founded the Noise Network including ''Noise11.com.'' As of September 2011 Cashmere was CEO and executive producer of the Noise Network. Biography Paul Cashmere began as a radio broadcaster in the late 1970s. He started at 2AD, Armidale (1977), then Nowra-based 2ST (1978 to 1981), EON-FM (1981-1983) and Fox FM (1983-1984). ''The 20'' (previously known as the ''VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown'') is a weekly television show that aired on the VH1 cable television network in the United States. The long-running series began in 1995 as the ''VH1 Top 10 Countdown'', part of VH1's "Music First" re-branding effort. Over the years a variety of hosts counted down the top ten or twenty music videos of the week. "Push" is a song by American rock band Matchbox Twenty. It was released in 1997 as the second single from their debut album, ''Yourself or Someone Like You'' (1996). After landing "Long Day" on several rock radio stations paving the way, "Push" topped the US Modern Rock Tracks chart and became one of the band's most successful singles. At the time of its release, "Push" was controversial for its lyrics, with many critics accusing the band of glorifying domestic violence. "Beautiful Liar" is a song by American singer Beyoncé and Colombian singer Shakira. It was written by Beyoncé, Amanda Ghost, Ian Dench, and Stargate members Mikkel S.
