House Of Wedlock
(literally "Ooh! Exploration Party") is a 1986 Japanese film directed by Kichitaro Negishi. Plot Tokiko Enomoto finds out that her husband Kazuya, who mostly lives at an apartment near his work while she and their children live at home, has been having an affair with a live-in mistress, Ryōko, at his apartment. Tokiko tells her two sons, Tarō and Jirō, that she has decided to divorce their father. The children are shocked but understand their mother's position. Kazuya realizes the damage he has done and tries to remedy the situation. Kichitaro Negishi
is a Japanese film director. Although his films are admired by critics in Japan for their intelligence, Negishi has received little international recognition for his work. He has not been credited with a distinctive style but he has been called a subtle director who often elicits strong performances from his actors. He won the award for Best Director at the 3rd Yokohama Film Festival for ''Enrai'' and '' Crazy Fruit''. Life and career Early career - Nikkatsu Negishi graduated from Waseda University in the Faculty of Theatre and Film Arts, and as with several other filmmakers of his generation, began his career directing ''Roman porno'' films for the Nikkatsu studio. Agata Hikari was a Japanese novelist and translator. She won many awards throughout her career, but was best known for her Noma Literary Prize-winning novel . Biography Hikari was born Kazue Asai in Tokyo, Japan on January 25, 1943. Her father was a police officer. She attended Waseda University, but dropped out and became a copywriter. After fifteen years of marriage, she divorced and began writing fiction in 1982. Hikari also worked as a translator. Hikari's first publication was , a novel which won the in 1982.
