Steven James Adams is an English musician who co-founded Broken Family Band and Singing Adams. In 2014 he released his first solo album, ''House Music (album), House Music'', with contributions from Dan Mangan, Justin Hayward-Young, Justin Young from The Vaccines, Martin Green from Lau (band), Lau and Emily Barker. Adams's second solo album, ''Old Magick (album), Old Magick'', which was produced by Dan Michaelson, was released in March 2016 on Fortuna Pop!. Adams has also written for ''The Guardian'', and ''The Times'' newspapers, as well as for ''The Stool Pigeon'' music paper. Broken Family Band
The Broken Family Band was a British rock band from Cambridge and London. The band was formed in Cambridge, England by Steven Adams, Jay Williams, Micky Roman and Gavin Johnson in 2001, following the break-up of Adams and Williams' indie rock band Hofman. Their musical style has variously been referred to as alt country, country rock, new wave, and indie-rock (the latter term being favoured by the band). Career Originally formed "for fun" and to play irregular shows at their local pub and record one album, the band were encouraged by friends to perform support slots in London. Dan Mangan
Daniel Mangan (born April 28, 1983) is a Canadian musician. He has won two Juno awards and has toured extensively throughout North America, Europe and Australia, having released 5 studio LPs and numerous EPs and singles. He has scored for feature film, as well as television for Netflix and AMC. He is also a co-founder of Side Door, a marketplace platform connecting artists with alternative venue spaces for in-person & online shows. Career Early work In 2003, at 20 years old, Mangan completed his first set of recordings: an EP of simply recorded acoustic songs called ''All At Once''. Five hundred copies were pressed and sold or given away throughout the Vancouver area. Justin Hayward-Young
Justin James Hayward-Young (born 2 May 1987) is an English musician. He is currently the lead singer and guitarist of indie rock band The Vaccines. Early life Young was born in Hampshire, England, and grew up in the New Forest. He attended King Edward VI School in Southampton from 1998-2003 and Brockenhurst College from 2003-2005. He is a great-grandson of the prolific English painter and artist Walter Hayward-Young, who was commonly known as "Jotter". The son of a film-maker, he grew up in a "musical household" and began playing music by borrowing his father's guitars. Lau (band)
Lau is a British folk band from both Scotland and England, formed in 2005. Named after an Orcadian word meaning "natural light", the band is composed of Kris Drever (guitar, vocals), Martin Green (accordion, piano, electronics) and Aidan O'Rourke (fiddle). To date, the band has released five studio albums, several EPs, and two live albums. Origins Their debut album, ''Lightweights and Gentlemen'', was released through Reveal Records in 2007.
