House Broken (Pavlov's Dog Album)
''House Broken'' is the second live album by American progressive rock/ AOR band Pavlov's Dog, released in 2016. The album is an audio-visual recording of Pavlov's Dog live concert at the ''Der Hirsch'' music venue in Nuremberg, Germany, during their 2015 European Tour. The band performed songs from their previously released albums, their then upcoming album '' Prodigal Dreamer'', two songs from David Surkamp's solo work ''Dancing on the Edge of a Teacup'', as well as one song from Hi-Fi's album ''Moods for Mallards''. They also played the previously unreleased "Canadian Rain", with David Surkamp introducing the song as one of the last things he wrote with Douglas Rayburn before the latter died in 2012. At The Sound Of The Bell
''At the Sound of the Bell'' is the second studio album by American progressive rock/ AOR band Pavlov's Dog, released in 1976. Since the previous year's album '' Pampered Menial'', violinist Siegfried Carver and drummer Mike Safron had left the band, being replaced by guitarist Thomas Nickeson and drummer Bill Bruford. Bruford, already famous as a member of Yes, King Crimson and Genesis, joined as a session musician. Several other musicians performed as guests, most notably Grammy Awarded Michael Brecker, Andy Mackay of Roxy Music fame, and guitarist Elliott Randall. The album's cover depicts model Michael Mantel dressed as the Hunchback of Notre-Dame. The album was meant to be the band's third studio release, succeeding ''At the Sound of the Bell''. However, according to lead singer David Surkamp, "''the band was falling apart''" at the time, the recording sessions were troubled, and Columbia Records "''refused to release''" the album. The band broke up in 1977, and the recordings were supposed to remain unreleased. Yet, the band's guitarist Steve Scorfina had a tape of the mix from which he created 100 unofficial vinyl copies and released them in 1977 as ''The St. Louis Hounds''. During the next 30 years the album was reissued several times with various titles (most commonly as ''Third''), always as a bootleg. ''Pampered Menial'' is the debut album by American progressive rock/ AOR band Pavlov's Dog, released in 1975. The album features a line-up comprising David Surkamp, Steve Scorfina, Mike Safron, Rick Stockton, David Hamilton, Doug Rayburn and Siegfried Carver (born Richard Nadler). Carver left the band soon after the album was released. It was first released on ABC Records, debuting on the charts in early April. The LP was soon reissued by Columbia Records, whose version (with slightly different cover) entered the charts in mid-June, just after the ABC issue had dropped off the charts. Having both versions on sale in stores at nearly the same time may have confused buyers.
