Hounds Below
The Hounds Below are an American rock band from Ferndale, Michigan consisting of Jason Stollsteimer (lead vocals, guitar), Will Shattuck (drums), and Adam Michael Lee Padden (bass, backing vocals). The band was formed in 2009, while Stollsteimer was still recording and touring with The Von Bondies. The Hounds Below's debut album, ''You Light Me Up In The Dark'', was released in 2012. The band has shared the stage with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Ash, The Heavy, The Raveonettes, The Grates, The Horrors, The Black Angels, Company of Thieves, Airborne Toxic Event, The Like, Band of Skulls and The Whigs. Ferndale, Michigan
Ferndale is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It forms part of the Detroit metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 19,190. Ferndale is well known in the Detroit area for its LGBT population and progressive policies. History Native Americans were early inhabitants of the area now known as the City of Ferndale. In the 1800s farmers began cultivating the land. After the invention of the automobile and the development of the automotive assembly line, the population of Ferndale increased rapidly. Ferndale was incorporated into a village in 1918. It was then incorporated into a city on March 7, 1927, by vote of the citizens of the village. It became a bedroom community for Detroit workers, with most of its growth in housing from 1920 to 1951. Company of Thieves were an American indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois, founded by Genevieve Schatz (vocals) and Marc Walloch (guitar). Their first album, '' Ordinary Riches'', was released independently in 2007 and re-released in 2009. Their second album, ''Running from a Gamble'', was released in 2011. The band announced they had no plans to record any new music as of January 2014, but announced a reunion in May 2017. Band of Skulls are an English rock band from Southampton, consisting of Russell Marsden (guitar, vocals) and Emma Richardson ( bass, vocals); Matt Hayward (drums; 2002–2016) was previously a member. The group formed after meeting in college, although Marsden and Hayward have been friends since high school.
