Hotfiel Sport
Hotfiel Sport was an auto racing team based in Kirchlengern, Germany. In 2005 they ran two Ford Focus cars in the inaugural 2005 FIA World Touring Car Championship under the Ford Hotfiel Sport banner. The cars were built by Ford Team RS and competed as a manufacturer entry due to support from Ford. The team started its WTCC campaign with two home-grown drivers, Thomas Klenke and Thomas Jäger. After missing out on round five at Puebla in Mexico, Jäger was replaced in the team by fellow German driver Michael Funke. For the final round in Macau, Klenke was replaced by test driver Patrick Bernhardt who had previous experience of the circuit. The cars were uncompetitive, despite an improvement later in the season, no championship points were scored. Hotfiel Sport did not return in 2006. World Touring Car Championship
The FIA World Touring Car Championship was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had several different incarnations, including a single season in 1987 as the World Touring Car Championship and most recently a world championship (WTCC) that has run between 2005 and 2017. Following the 2017 season, an agreement was reached for the FIA WTCC to become FIA WTCR and use the TCR technical regulations. ADAC Procar Series
The Deutsche Tourenwagen Cup (DTC, formerly known as ADAC Procar Series) was a yearly motorsport series in Germany and some surrounding countries. The series has been running since 1995 and was folded in 2017. Current status Currently the DTC is the highest level of German motorsport that runs cars to the Super 2000 regulations used in World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). To fill up the grid, and to promote new, young drivers the few Super 2000 cars are joined by the less advanced Division 2 and 3 series (the Super 2000 cars being called Division 1), bringing up the total number of starting drivers to around 20 to 25. Division 1 also allows cars of BTCC-spec – the 2005 champion Mathias Schläppi won in a BTCC-built MG ZS. Thomas Klenke
''Thomas Klenke'' (born 31 October 1966 in Bad Pyrmont, Lower Saxony) is a German auto racing driver. In 2005 he competed in the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Ford Hotfiel Sport in a Ford Focus. The car was uncompetitive and Klenke scored no championship points with a best placed finish of tenth in Oschersleben. The team did not return to the WTCC in 2006. Thomas Jäger (born 27 October 1976) is a German professional racing driver. Michael Funke
Michael Funke (born 26 September 1969 in Meerbusch) is a German auto racing driver. Career Funke finished third in the German Touring Car Challenge in 1999 and 2000, and was runner-up in 2001. The championship became the DMSB Produktionswagen Meisterschaft in 2004, and Funke finished third for Hotfiel Sport. Hotfiel moved to the new World Touring Car Championship in 2005, and Funke was test and reserve driver. He replaced Thomas Jäger for the final five rounds of the season, scoring a best finish of tenth position. Funke has since competed in ADAC GT Masters.
