Hotath Neerar Jonnyo
''Hotath Neerar Jonnyo'' is a 2004 Bengali film directed by director Subrata Sen. It is based on a short story ''Rani O Abinash'' by noted novelist Sunil Gangopadhyay. Plot Rani (Ghosh) is a housewife with a successful husband, Tapas, and a kid. Living a routine existence, Rani looks after her family and attend her dance classes. One day her old friend from college Abinash (Ghosh) comes into her life. Abinash is a renowned musician today and has been travelling around the world. Abinash says to Rani that he has had relationships with a few women, but cannot offer himself up fully because the memory of Rani stands in his way. He asks her to spend a day with him so that he can get over her. Abinash also has a girlfriend Tina who is in love with him. Rani, torn between principles and passion, succumbs to Abinash's persistence. This creates havoc in her personal life while Abinash, his goal complete, moves away from her. Subrata Sen ( bn, সুব্রত সেন), (born 29 May 1963) is a Bengali Indian film director, screenwriter, novelist and producer. Biography Early life Subrata Sen was born in Kolkata in 1963. He went to South Point High School and graduated in physics from Presidency College, then affiliated with the University of Calcutta. After a brief stint in a bank as an officer, he joined journalism in 1987 in Anandabazar Patrika, the largest circulated daily in India. Sunil Gangopadhyay
Sunil Gangopadhyay or Sunil Ganguly (7 September 1934 – 23 October 2012) was an Indian poet, historian and novelist in the Bengali language based in the city of Kolkata. He is a former Sheriff of Calcutta. Gangopadhyay obtained his master's degree in Bengali from the University of Calcutta. In 1953 he and a few of his friends started a Bengali poetry magazine, '' Krittibas''. Later he wrote for many different publications. Ganguly created the Bengali fictional character '' Kakababu'' whose real name is Raja Roy Chowdhury and his passion is to solve mysteries. He wrote 36 novels in Kakababu series which became significant in Indian children's literature. He received ''Sahitya Akademi'' award in 1985 for his novel '' Those Days'' (''Sei Samay''). Bickram Ghosh is an Indian classical tabla player. Early life He started learning tabla from his father, Pandit Shankar Ghosh, who had played with Ali Akbar Khan. Career Ghosh has performed with Ali Akbar Khan and Pandit Ravi Shankar. Ghosh performs in various avatars. His long-standing band, Rhythmscape, which performs neo-fusion music, celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2011.
