Hot Shots (Canadian TV Series)
''Hot Shots'' is a Canadian television drama series, which aired on CBS in the United States in 1986, and CTV in Canada in 1987. The series, produced by CTV for the '' CBS Late Night'' block of crime drama series, starred Dorothy Parke and Booth Savage as Amanda Reed and Jake West, crime journalists for the tabloid magazine ''Crime World''. The cast also included Paul Burke, Clark Johnson, Heather Smith, and Mung Ling. Only thirteen episodes of the show were produced. Its producers went on to create ''Diamonds'' the following year. Booth Savage
Booth Savage (born May 21, 1948) is a Canadian film, stage, and television veteran actor. He is perhaps best known for his role as Team Canada head coach Harry Sinden in the 2006 CBC miniseries, ''Canada Russia '72''. Career Savage graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from York University in 1992. Savage is also a playwright and avid stage actor. His self-written plays ''Savage Heat'', ''DADS'', ''Reversing Falls'', ''Pillow Talk'', ''Pajama Games'' and ''This Bloody Business'' have been performed on stages across Canada. Moreover, he is an original actor member of Toronto's Theatre Passe Muraille and Toronto Free Theatre. ''The CBS Late Movie'' is a CBS television series (later known as ''CBS Late Night'') during the 1970s and 1980s. The program ran in most American television markets from 11:30 p.m. ( ET/ PT) until 2:30 a.m. or later, on weeknights. A single announcer (in the early years, CBS staff announcer Norm Stevens) voiced the introduction and commercial bumpers for each program, but there was no host per se, or closing credits besides those of the night's presentation. ''Diamonds'' is a French and Canadian-produced television series, which aired from September 22, 1987, to 1989. The show starred Nicholas Campbell as Mike Devitt and Peggy Smithhart as Christina Towne, former actors who had met and married while playing private investigators on a TV series called ''Two of Diamonds'', and continued to work together as real private investigators after both their divorce and the cancellation of their show. The show was frequently compared to the American series ''Moonlighting''. In a direct nod to the comparison, one episode actually featured an encounter with a character who mistook Devitt and Towne for Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd.
