Kofinou
Kofinou ( el, Κοφίνου; tr, Köfünye or ) is a village located in the Larnaca District of Cyprus. It is situated where the roads from Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol trisected, prior to the by-pass built in the 1990s. History Cyprus was invaded and conquered by Ottoman Turkey in 1570-1 A.D. At that time a small contingent of Turkish forces was stationed there. Their descendants lived in relative peace with the local Greek and Christian population for many years. In the 1950s during the uprising by Greek Cypriots to overthrow British Empire rule the relationship between the Greek and Turkish population worsened and the Greeks left but were replaced by Turkish Cypriots from another village. Klirou
Klirou ( gr, Kλήρου, tr, Kliru) is a Historic Mining District and covers an area of 18.7 square kilometers. Klirou residents are known for their wealth and political influence. Situated in the northern foothills of the Troodos Mountains, 26 km southwest of Nicosia. Fyti
Fyti ( el, Φύτη or ) is a village in the Paphos District of Cyprus. It is situated on a plateau 25 km north-east of Paphos and 20 km south-east of Polis. There are several small villages within a 3 km radius of Fyti, including Lasa, Kritou Marottou and Anadiou, all residing at an average altitude of 680 m. Due to the altitude and cover from the surrounding landscape, Fyti enjoys a pleasant climate all year round with long dry summers and winters that still remain warm and predominantly dry, rarely seeing frost or snow. Drouseia
Dhrousha ( gr, Δρούσια) is a village in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located 10 km south of Polis Chrysochous. It's located at 640 m above sea level. Drousia or Drouseia or Droushia, one of the smallest villages in the mountainous area of Paphos, built at the highest point of the plateau of Laona, is located on the western side of the island. Dali, Cyprus
Dali (or Dhali; el, Δάλι; tr, Dali) is a large village in Cyprus, located south east of the capital Nicosia and close to the ancient city of Idalion. In 2001, it had a population of 5,834. By 2011, the population had almost doubled to 10,466. Ancient Idalion Idalium was an ancient city on place of modern Dali, Nicosia District. The city was founded on the copper trade in the 3rd millennium BC. Recent excavations have uncovered major buildings on the site which are open to visitors. A new museum is also near to the site. Avdimou
Avdimou ( el, Αυδήμου, tr, Evdim or ''Düzkaya'') is a small village on the south coast of Cyprus, lying partly within the British Overseas Territory of Akrotiri and Dhekelia. Up to 1974 it was inhabited by a majority of Turkish-Cypriots, but following the Turkish invasion the Turkish Cypriot residents evacuated to the North. Greek Cypriot refugees from the North, who were forcibly evacuated, replaced all the Turkish Cypriot residents. Athienou
Athienou ( el, Αθηένου or , ) is a village in Larnaca District, Cyprus. It is one of only four villages located within the United Nations Buffer Zone, the other three being Pyla, Troulloi and Deneia. Today, Athienou has a population of around 6,500 people. Since 1990, it has been home to Davidson College's Athienou Archaeological Project. The town's city hall includes a museum of local history and culture that was established in 2008.
