Katherine de Montalant Hoskins (May 25, 1909 – May 26, 1988) was an American poet, short story writer, and playwright. Life Born in Indian Head, Maryland to Katherine Peck Lackey and U.S. Navy Rear-Admiral Henry Ellis Lackey, Katherine was home-schooled until she was eleven. She attended Smith College, graduating with honors in 1931. In 1935, she married Albert L. Hoskins, Jr., a World War I veteran who worked as a probation officer in Boston; together they had one daughter, Camilla. Although Hoskins did not publicize herself or her work, she corresponded with many prominent contemporaries (including Robert Lowell, John Crowe Ransom, and Wallace Stevens), all of whom regarded her work highly. Tom Hoskins
Tom James Hoskins (13 March 1864 – 16 July 1934) was an English-born Australian politician. He was born at Stratton-on-the-Fosse in Somerset to master mason William Hoskins and Sophia, ''née'' Carter. While a young man he arrived in New South Wales and worked as a wheelwright, eventually establishing a coachbuilding business at Dulwich Hill. He married Annie McConnell, with whom he had six children. From 1903 to 1917 he was an alderman at Petersham, serving as mayor from 1910 to 1912 and from 1915 to 1916. He was also involved in the Royal Agricultural Society from 1901 to 1934, serving as vice-president from 1918 to 1934. In 1913 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the Liberal member for Dulwich Hill. He was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives and has been mayor of Berkeley, Missouri since his election in 2012. Hoskins was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Berkeley, Missouri. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1961, and left with an honorable discharge. He received education in business administration at Florissant Valley Community College, where he obtained an associate's degree, and at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Samuel Elliott Hoskins (1799–1888) was a British physician. Life Hoskins was born at Guernsey in 1799. His father, Samuel Hoskins, a native of Honiton, Devon, England, was in business at 66 Mark Lane, London, with the firm of Merrick, Hoskins, & Co. till 1798, when he went to Guernsey and, marrying Miss Elizabeth Oliver, remained there during the remainder of his life. Hoskins was educated at Topsham and Exeter, and, destined for the Guernsey bar was placed under Advocate Charles de Jersey. After a year he gave up the law for medicine. Samuel Tobias Hoskins (born 4 February 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Northampton Town. College Hoskins attended Mississippi Valley State University, where she earned All-Conference honors each of the four years she played for the Devilettes.
