Horst Lademacher
Horst Lademacher (born 13 July 1931) is a German historian specializing in the history of the Netherlands. He was a professor of modern history at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, University of Kassel and the University of Münster. At the latter institute he was also director of the Zentrum für Niederlande-Studien from 1990 to 2000. Career Lademacher was born on 13 July 1931 in Ründeroth. In 1957 he obtained his doctorate at the University of Münster with a dissertation titled: "Die Stellung des Prinzen von Oranien als Statthalter in den Niederlanden von 1572-1584", about the position of William of Orange as ''stadtholder'' in the Netherlands from 1572 to 1584. From 1958 to 1962 he worked as a scientific employee at the International Institute of Social History. He subsequently worked two years for the European Economic Community in Brussels. Horst Tappert (26 May 1923 – 13 December 2008) was a German film and television actor best known for the role of Inspector Stephan Derrick in the television drama ''Derrick''. Biography Horst Tappert was born on 26 May 1923 in Elberfeld (now Wuppertal), Germany. His father, Julius Tappert (1892–1957), was a civil servant; his mother was Ewaldine Röll Tappert (1892–1981). Following high school and at the age of 17, Tappert was drafted into the German Army during World War II. Aged 19, he was, according to his widow against his will, transferred from the Army to the ''Waffen-SS'', where the author of the Derrick series, Herbert Reinecker, had also served. Initially a member of a reserve antiaircraft unit in Arolsen, he was listed as a grenadier with the 3rd SS Division Totenkopf in March 1943. Horst Sindermann
Horst Sindermann (; 5 September 1915 – 20 April 1990) was a Communist German politician and one of the leaders of East Germany. He became Chairman of the Council of Ministers in 1973, but in 1976 he became President of the Volkskammer, the only member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany to hold the post. Early life Sindermann was born in a traditional family in Dresden as the son of the Saxon Social Democratic politician Karl Sindermann. His older brother, Kurt Sindermann, also entered politics as a member of the Communist Party and sat on the Saxon state parliament from 1929 to 1933. Horst Christian Simco (born January 29, 1982), better known by his stage name Riff Raff (often stylized as RiFF RAFF), is an American rapper. Horst Salomon (6 May 1929 – 20 June 1972) was a German novelist and screenwriter. His successful career in the German Democratic Republic was cut short by his early death. Salomon was regarded as a regime loyalist. Life Horst Salomon was born in Pillkallen, then a small market town in East Prussia still recovering from the destruction of the First World War. His father was an agricultural worker. He nevertheless attended the Gymnasium (school) in Allenstein. Horst Mahler (born 23 January 1936) is a German former lawyer and political activist. He once was a far-left militant and a founding member of the Red Army Faction who later became a Maoist, before switching to neo-Nazism. Between 2000 and 2003, he was a member of the far-right National Democratic Party of Germany. Since 2003, he has repeatedly been convicted of ''Volksverhetzung'' ("incitement of popular hatred") and Holocaust denial, and he served much of a twelve-year prison sentence. In April 2017, Mahler was ordered back to prison for a further three and a half years. On 18 April 2017, he fled the Federal Republic of Germany, hoping to avoid execution of the sentence.
