Horsham Cricket Club
Horsham Cricket Club is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the world and represents the Sussex market town of Horsham in the Sussex Cricket League, along with Roffey Cricket Club. Although cricket was played in Horsham before 1768, the first recorded game of a town side was on 8 August 1771, and Horsham Cricket Club was created soon after 1806. The club has played various locations over the years, before settling at their present ground in 1851. Cricketfield Road Horsham is on 'Cricketfield Road' and the Ground is known as the Cricketfield Road Ground. This ground is the only ground to host both the MCC Spirit of Cricket U13 Regional Finals and the Portman Cup U15 Regional Finals. The two ends are called the Town End and the Railway End. Horsham's second ground is named after former President Dr. John Dew, which lies adjacent to the main square. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Kamau Leverock
Kamau Sadiki Leverock (born 19 October 1994) is a Bermudian cricketer and the captain of the Bermuda cricket team. A nephew of two former ODI players, Dwayne Leverock (Bermuda) and Austin Codrington (Canada), Leverock is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium. He was educated at the Bermuda Institute. Career Having played for Bermuda at various age levels, Leverock made his debut for Bermuda against Argentina in the 2011 ICC World Cricket League Americas Region Twenty20 Division One. Mark Sanders (cricketer)
Mark David Sanders (born 10 July 1979) is a South African former cricketer active from 1998/99 until 2005/06. Sanders played for KwaZulu-Natal B, KwaZulu-Natal and Boland. Career Mark Sanders made his first-class debut in February 1999, playing for KwaZulu-Natal B against Northerns B in a UCB Bowl match, scoring 35 in KwaZulu-Natal's only innings. Andries Johannes Burger (born 25 August 1981), known as Jan-Berry Burger, is a former Namibian cricketer. He made his international debut in February 2003. He was part of Namibia's first ever ODI team and was part of Namibia's first ever World Cup team. Biography He was born in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Shane John Jurgensen (born 28 April 1976 in Redcliffe, Queensland) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer. David Hussey
David John Hussey (born 15 July 1977) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer. Hussey is a right-handed batter and can also bowl right-arm off breaks. He is the younger brother of former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey. He was captain of the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. Michael Munday
Michael Kenneth Munday (born 22 October 1984) is an English cricketer who played for Somerset until 2010. He is a leg break bowler and lower order right-handed batsman. Munday was born at Nottingham and made his Minor Counties debut for Cornwall while playing for Truro School in 2001 and played for them regularly in 2001 and 2002 before playing in the Somerset 2nd XI in late 2002. Michael Alistair Thornely (born 19 October 1987) is an English former professional cricketer who last played for Leicestershire County Cricket Club. Roger Philip Twells Marshall (born 28 February 1952) is a former English cricketer. Marshall was a right-handed batsman who bowled left-arm fast-medium. Marshall was born at Horsham, Sussex, and educated at Charterhouse School, where he captained the school cricket team in his final year in 1970. He played for the Public Schools at Lord's in 1969. Marshall made his first-class debut for Sussex against the touring West Indians in 1973. ''Wisden'' noted after his debut season that Marshall, "with his flowing ginger hair, brought some colour to the scene".
