''Horses!'' is a themed anthology of science fiction and fantasy short works edited by Jack Dann and Gardner Dozois. It was first published in paperback by Ace Books in May 1994. Garry Kilworth
Garry Douglas Kilworth (born 5 July 1941 in York) is a British science fiction, fantasy and historical novelist, and a former Royal Air Force cryptographer. Early life Kilworth was raised partly in Aden, South Arabia, the son of an airman. Having an itinerant father, he travelled widely, both in Britain and abroad, and attended over 20 different schools before the age of 15. Kilworth is a graduate of King's College London. Career Kilworth went to military school and served in the Royal Air Force for 18 years as a cryptographer. On demobilisation he joined Cable & Wireless, an international telecommunications company, leaving them to become a full-time writer in 1981. His science fiction and fantasy does not fit any set formula, being more interested in the enigmatic and strange, with roots in folk lore. Jack Dann And Gardner Dozois Ace Anthology Series
Jack Dann and Gardner Dozois have jointly edited a series of themed science fiction and fantasy anthologies, mostly published by Ace Books (a few were issued by other publishers). Because most of the earlier volumes had one-word titles followed by an exclamation mark, it has also been known as "The Exclamatory series." The series began in 1980 with ''Aliens!'', issued by Pocket Books. Ace took over publication with ''Unicorns!'', the second volume, in 1982. Under Ace, most volumes of the series were originally themed around a certain type of "magic" entities, with science fiction-oriented volumes being the exception. Hence, it was known as the "Magic Tales Anthology Series" until 1995. The "magic" guideline was abandoned in 1996 when the series switched its focus to more strictly science fiction themes, beginning with ''Hackers''. Jack Dann (born February 15, 1945) is an American writer best known for his science fiction, an editor and a writing teacher, who has lived in Australia since 1994. He has published over seventy books, in the majority of cases as editor or co-editor of story anthologies in the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres. He has published nine novels, numerous shorter works of fiction, essays and poetry and his books have been translated into thirteen languages. His work, which includes fiction in the science fiction, fantasy, horror, magical realism and historical and alternative history genres, has been compared to Jorge Luis Borges, Roald Dahl, Lewis Carroll, J. Gardner Raymond Dozois ( ; July 23, 1947 – May 27, 2018) was an American people, American science fiction author and editing, editor. He was the founding editor of ''The Year's Best Science Fiction'' anthologies (1984–2018) and was editor of ''Asimov's Science Fiction'' magazine (1986–2004), garnering multiple Hugo Award, Hugo and Locus Awards for those works almost every year. He also won the Nebula Award for Best Short Story twice. He was inducted to the EMP Museum#Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Science Fiction Hall of Fame on June 25, 2011. Fantasy Anthologies
Fantasy is a genre of speculative fiction involving magical elements, typically set in a fictional universe and sometimes inspired by mythology and folklore. Its roots are in oral traditions, which then became fantasy literature and drama. Leonard Francis Guttridge (27 August 1918 – 7 June 2009) was an English historian and author. Biography Guttridge was born on 27 August 1918 in Bournemouth, England. During World War II, he served as an aircraft mechanic in the British Royal Air Force. He immigrated to Washington, D.C., United States, in 1946, initially to work at the Indian Embassy.
