In 2002, Horizon declared bankruptcy after a Nigerian client failed to pay in full for several delivered vessels. After emerging from bankruptcy, control of the company passed in full to Travis R. Short, the younger of the father-son founding team. Horizon expended its business through the 2000s, delivering vessels to defense, fishing, and towboat customers. By 2016, the company employed about 350 people and had annual revenue of between $40 and $50 million. Bayou La Batre ( or ) is a city in Mobile County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Mobile metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,204, down from 2,558 at the 2010 census. Bayou La Batre is a fishing village with a seafood-processing harbor for fishing boats and shrimp boats. The local chamber of commerce has described the city as the "Seafood Capitol of Alabama" for packaging seafood from hundreds of fishing boats. Bayou La Batre was founded in 1786, when French-born Joseph Bouzage (or Bosarge) 733-1795was awarded a Spanish land grant on the West Bank of the bayou (see history below). The modern city of Bayou La Batre was incorporated in 1955. NYC Ferry is a public network of ferry routes in New York City operated by Hornblower Cruises. , there are six routes, as well as one seasonal route, connecting 25 ferry piers across all five boroughs. NYC Ferry has the largest passenger fleet in the United States with a total of 38 vessels, providing between 20–90 minute service on each of the routes, depending on the season. It offers a variety of vessels ranging from commercial transportation to specialized law enforcement and military applications. History The company was founded as Gravois Aluminum Boats in 1986, building primarily small recreational vessels. As sales declined Gravois incorporated Metal Shark in 2005 with the goal of attracting governmental and commercial clients.
