The Horda Tunnel ( no, Hordatunnelen) is a road tunnel in Ullensvang Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The long tunnel is in the village of Horda. The tunnel is a spiral tunnel, turning almost a complete circle while continuously traversing a gradient of 7%. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. A hairpin turn (also hairpin bend or hairpin corner) is a bend in a road with a very acute inner angle, making it necessary for an oncoming vehicle to turn about 180° to continue on the road. It is named for its resemblance to a bent metal hairpin. Such turns in ramps and trails may be called switchbacks in American English, by analogy with switchback railways.
