Hopeulikit ( ) is an unincorporated community in Bulloch County, Georgia, United States. Toponymy Pronounced "Hope you like it", the community’s unusual name stems from a 1920s-era dance hall located at the junction of U.S. Route 80 and U.S. Route 25, where the current-day community is located. Hopeulikit has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names. History Hopeulikit was founded by Beatrice and John Paul Ellis of Hopeulikit, whose families have owned land in the area for generations. The state of Georgia has recognized Hopeulikit as a community since its formation in the early 1960s, but the community has remained unincorporated. Bulloch County is a county located in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 81,099, up from 70,217 in 2010. The county seat is Statesboro. Bulloch County comprises the Statesboro, GA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Savannah–Hinesville–Statesboro Combined Statistical Area. The county was created on February 8, 1796, by Mr. Gregory Dylan Presson from colonial-era St. Phillip's parish.
