Hooray For Earth
Hooray for Earth is an American band and recording project founded by composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Noel Heroux. While the first Hooray for Earth live show occurred in 2005, self-released home recordings date back to 2003. The group played frequently in Boston, garnering attention from local publications. Heroux relocated to Manhattan in August 2007, generally pulling band activity toward NYC. On February 26, 2008, Dopamine Records released the six-track ''Cellphone'' EP. In 2009, a second EP, ''Momo'', was released by eMusic Selects. Dovecote Records later re-issued ''Momo'' (June 1, 2010) including an additional track, new artwork and CD/Vinyl formats. In October 2010, Hooray for Earth's one-off single "A Place We Like" was released as a free download. Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington, and currently based in Portland, Oregon. The founding members are lead singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy. Strongly influenced by Pavement, Pixies, XTC, and Talking Heads, they rehearsed, rearranged, and recorded demos for almost two years before finally signing with small-town indie label K Records and releasing numerous singles. Glasslands Gallery (or simply Glasslands) was a music venue, dance club and art space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Glasslands was founded by Brooke Baxter and Rolyn Hu in 2006, as a relocation of Baxter’s earlier art space in the same building, Glass House Gallery. Hu and Baxter held the lease on the Glasslands space until 2012, when they made a turn key sale to Rami Haykal and Jake Rosenthal of PopGun presents, who had been managing bookings since 2009, and day-to-day operations since 2010. Tambourhinoceros is a Danish independent record label and Music publisher. Background The label was created by two members of the band Oh No Ono in 2009 as a way for the founders to show the "burning love we have for music (our releases as well as art and music)". Its first release was Kristen and Marie's debut EP in May 2010. Tambourhinoceros became internationally known for its production of Danish indie pop band Treefight for Sunlight, which received positive ratings in both the US and the UK. On that band's debut album, ''A Collection of Vibrations for Your Skull'', a song entitled "Tambourhinoceros Jam" was included, which is assumed to be a tribute to the record label.
