Hoogstraten VV (''Dutch'': Hoogstraten Voetbalvereniging) is a Belgian football club from Hoogstraten, Antwerp. It was founded in 1936 and has red and white team colors. Hoogstraten
Hoogstraten () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises Hoogstraten, Meer, Meerle, Meersel-Dreef, Minderhout and Wortel (Meersel-Dreef includes the northernmost point in Belgium). Hoogstraten (originally ''Hoogstraeten'') has a population of over 20,000, and lies in Flanders at the northern border of Belgium within an enclave surrounded on three sides by the Netherlands. Today, about 15% percent of the population consists of Dutch people. The town is named after the ''hoge straat'' or "high road" – a military highway that linked the old towns of Antwerp and 's-Hertogenbosch. In the town's early days, little trade existed. 2019–20 Belgian Second Amateur Division
The 2019–20 Belgian Second Amateur Division was the fourth season of the division in its current format, placed at the fourth-tier of football in Belgium. Mid-March all matches were temporarily postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Belgium, only to be canceled permanently two weeks later, with the standing as of March 12 counting as final. As a result, Knokke, Tienen and Francs Borains were crowned champions in their respective league and were each promoted to the 2020–21 Belgian First Amateur Division. Belgian Promotion
The Belgian Fourth Division was the lowest nationwide division in Belgian football. The division was split into four separate leagues, A, B, C and D. The team with the most points in the four leagues together was declared the overall winner. If several league winners had the same number of points, the one with the most wins was declared champion, or if that was still tied, then the one with the best goal average was declared champion. Finally, if two teams were still equal, a single match was played on a neutral ground to determine the team to be added to the palmares. Roy Mauro (born 16 November 1990) is a Belgian footballer who plays as a centre-back for Belgian Division 2 club KRC Mechelen. Career Beerschot Mauro played in the youth department of Lyra until in 2007, where he was included in the Germinal Beerschot academy. In 2008, he signed his first professional deal; a four-year contract. On 8 May 2009, Mauro made his debut in the first team on the penultimate matchday of the 2008–09 season, coming off the bench in the 73rd minute for Paul Kpaka in a 3–1 home victory against Mechelen. The following two seasons, Mauro played on loan for Turnhout. In the 2011–12 season he returned to Beerschot, but was loaned out to KV Turnhout for another six months.
