Hoodwinked!
''Hoodwinked!'' is a 2005 computer-animated musical comedy mystery film. It retells the folktale ''Little Red Riding Hood'' as a police procedural, using backstories to show multiple characters' points of view. It was produced independently by Blue Yonder Films with Kanbar Entertainment, directed and written by Cory Edwards along with Todd Edwards, and Tony Leech, and produced by Katie Hooten, Maurice Kanbar, David K. Lovegren, Sue Bea Montgomery, and Preston Stutzman. The film features the voices of Anne Hathaway, Glenn Close, Jim Belushi, Patrick Warburton, Anthony Anderson, David Ogden Stiers, Xzibit, Chazz Palminteri, and Andy Dick. ''Hoodwinked!'' was among the earliest computer-animated films to be completely independently funded. Cory Edwards
Cory Edwards (born August 21, 1968) is an American film director, screenwriter, and stand-up comedian. He is probably best known for directing, co-writing, and voice acting in ''Hoodwinked'' (2005), and for co-writing and voice acting in the 2011 sequel ''Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil''. He is the older brother of screenwriter/director Todd Edwards (film writer), Todd Edwards and film producer Katie Hooten. Parents James L. Edwards, Cory Edwards' father, grew up as the son of a minister in Kettering, Ohio and graduated from Anderson University (Indiana), Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. Kanbar Entertainment is an independent film production studio founded by private investor Maurice Kanbar and Hollywood veteran Sue Bea Montgomery in 2002. The studio produced ''Hoodwinked!'', which was one of the first computer-animated films to be entirely independently financed. The film was produced on a budget of less than $8 million, considerably less than the typical budget for an animated film. To save costs, Kanbar Entertainment founded the animation studio Digital Eyecandy in Manila, Philippines to create most of the film's animation. Preston Stutzman
Preston Stutzman is a film producer and actor. He produced the 1999 independent film ''Chillicothe'', which was screened at the Sundance Film Festival and the 2005 independent computer-animated film ''Hoodwinked!'', which was one of the first computer-animated films to be completely independently funded. He also performed the minor role of Timmy in ''Hoodwinked!'' Early life Stutzman grew up in Ohio and graduated from Anderson University in 1992 with degrees in Computer Science and Marketing. Sue Bea Montgomery (born 1958) is an American film producer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. After serving as an associate producer on the 1999 Independent film '' Chillicothe'', she introduced the film's director Todd Edwards and his brother Cory Edwards to entrepreneur and inventor Maurice Kanbar, who had invested in the film. Katie Hooten is an American actress and film producer. She is married to Timothy Hooten, and is the sister of filmmakers Cory Edwards and Todd Edwards. As a child she participated in theatre, and along with her brothers, made Super 8 home videos. She is a graduate of Anderson University, of which her father is the president. Todd Edwards (born September 17, 1971) is an American screenwriter/producer, film director, and writer working in Los Angeles. He is also an actor and songwriter/singer who is currently in the band called Blick Van Glory. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tony Leech (born May 28, 1968) is an American director, screenwriter and editor who currently lives in Los Angeles. Tony attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While a student there, Leech and fellow ORU student Mark Steele (comedian/producer), along with some friends, wrote and performed a sketch comedy show called Standing Room Only, or SRO.
