Honkbal Rookie League
The Honkbal Rookie League (Dutch for ''Baseball Rookie League'') is a professional baseball league in the Netherlands for rookies from the teams in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse. It is an eight-team league that plays a 42-game schedule. The season runs from April to September and is not followed by a promotion and relegation system. HCAW
HCAW (formerly known as Mr. Cocker HCAW ( sponsored name)), in full ''Honkbalclub Allen Weerbaar'', is a Dutch baseball and softball club from Bussum. As of 2021 the club numbers about 400 members, including 270 players, making it one of the largest baseball and softball clubs in the Netherlands. The club's top teams all play in their equivalent Dutch major league. History HCAW was established in 1957 as an independent baseball and softball club. Between 1949 and 1957 it operated as the baseball division of the Bussum sporting club Allen Weerbaar. The team played on a football field until 1958 when the city of Bussum agreed to build a baseball field for the club in Bussum Zuid. HCAW added a softball division in 1966. In the same year HCAW was promoted to the Honkbal Hoofdklasse for the first time. In 1970 the club moved to its current field in the Bussumse Sportvallei. Pioniers is a baseball and softball team based in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. The club is currently sponsored by Raamsdonkveer-based construction company ''Vaessen BV'' and the team is officially known as the Vaessen Pioniers. Pioniers baseball team plays in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse, the top level of professional baseball in the Netherlands. The club's most successful year was 1997 they reached the Holland Series for the first time in the club's history by beating reigning champions DOOR Neptunus in the play-offs. In the Holland Series they claimed a 3-2 victory over Mr. Cocker HCAW, making them Dutch champions. Amsterdam Pirates is a Dutch baseball and softball organization based in Amsterdam. It was founded as an expansion of the football club SV Rap on 17 February 1959 by Loek Loevendie. In the first years it was known as the RAP Pirates, but after a few years the club changed its name according to American tradition (first city name, then franchise name) and became the Amsterdam Pirates. The Pirates play at the Pirates Playground on Sportpark Ookmeer in Osdorp, in the west of Amsterdam. This stadium was one of the hosts of the 2007 European Softball Championship. Kinheim is a baseball and softball team based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The title sponsor of the club is currently ''Corendon'' so that the official name of the team is Corendon Kinheim. Kinheim baseball team plays in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse, the top level of professional baseball in the Netherlands.
