Hong Young-pyo
Hong Young-pyo (; born 30 April 1957) is a South Korean politician representing Incheon Bupyeong District at the National Assembly from 2009. Before entering politics He led the first labour strike of South Korean Chaebol in 1985. In 1982 he started working at Daewoo Motors (now General Motors)'s factory in Bupyeong as its welder as part of his endeavor as a student activist to initiate grassroots movement for democracy among labourers. In April 1985, its trade union decided to go on strike after being offered only 5.7% increase in wages - considerably small increase compared to their demand, 18.7%, to compensate increased productivity and to meet the minimum cost of living. Although he was not part of its trade union's leadership, Hong negotiated the terms with the chairman of the group, Kim Woo-jung, which lasted for 4 days and concluded with 16.4% increase with improved benefits. Rhyu Si-min (; born July 28, 1959) is a South Korean politician who served as the 44th Minister of Health and Welfare from February 2006 to May 2007. Before starting his political career since August 2002, he was a journalist of ''Dong-a Ilbo'' and ''The Hankyoreh'', with having his continuous progressive and liberal attitudes. He was in the UNDP as an Assembly member (representative) for Deogyang A district, and is a graduate of Seoul National University with a degree in Economics, and master's from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz in Economics. United Future Party
The People Power Party (; PPP), formerly known as the United Future Party (; UFP), is a conservative political party in South Korea. Gunsan (), also romanized as Kunsan, is a city in North Jeolla Province, South Korea. It is on the south bank of the Geum River just upstream from its exit into the Yellow Sea. Moon Jae-in (; ; born 24 January 1953) is a South Korean former politician, civil servant and lawyer who served as the 12th president of South Korea between 2017 and 2022. Prior to his presidency, he served as Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs and Chief of Staff to President Roh Moo-hyun, Member of the National Assembly, and Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea. Born to North Korean refugees of House of Moon in Hamhung, Moon was raised in poverty in the southern port city of Busan. He excelled in school and studied law at Kyung Hee University. Han Myeong-sook (born March 24, 1944; ko, 한명숙 ) was the Prime Minister of South Korea from April 2006 to March 2007. She is South Korea's first female prime minister (second female prime minister overall if the acting premiership of Chang Sang is included). She was from the United New Democratic Party (UNDP) as a member of the Korean National Assembly (representative) for Ilsan-gab, and is a graduate of Ewha Womans University in Seoul with a degree in French literature. She resigned as Prime Minister on March 7, 2007 and declared her presidential candidacy. But she did not succeed in the nominations. In 2008 she ran for parliament, but was not elected. The Ministry of Economy and Finance (abbreviated to MOEF) oversees the financial policies of the South Korean government. It publishes a monthly report on the national economy, known as the "Green Book." The current minister is Choo Kyung-ho. The headquarters is in the Sejong Government Complex in Sejong City. Gyeongju Nuclear Waste Disposal Facility
The Wolseong Low- and Intermediate-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Center (WLDC) is a facility used to safely house low- to intermediate-level radioactive waste (LILW) at Gyeongju in South Korea. The facility features a silo-type design, and its first stage allowed for up to 100,000 barrels of storage, which increased to a total capacity of 800,000 upon completion of the final stage. South Korea's nuclear power program is fully integrated into the national infrastructure, supplying 30% of its electricity and 8.6% of its total energy usage. As of May 2012, a total of 21 reactors operated in the country generating 18.7 GW. Ongoing and planned projects are estimated to bring South Korea's generating capacity to 32.9 GW by 2030.
