The Hong Kong women's national ice hockey team () is the women's national ice hockey team of Hong Kong. The team began participating in the IIHF World Championship in 2014 at the Division II Qualification level in Mexico City. The Regional Emblem of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China came into use on 1 July 1997, after the transfer of the sovereignty of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to the People's Republic of China. 2018 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II
The 2018 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II was three international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division II Group A tournament was played in Maribor, Slovenia, from 31 March to 6 April 2018, the Division II Group B tournament was played in Valdemoro, Spain, from 17 to 23 March 2018, and the Division II Group B Qualification tournament was played in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 4 to 9 December 2017. The Netherlands won the Division II Group A tournament and will play in Division I next year. Spain took home the top spot in the Division II Group B tournament and were promoted to Division II Group A for next year, while Croatia won the Division II Group B Qualification tournament. Ice Hockey At The 2017 Asian Winter Games
Ice hockey at the 2017 Asian Winter Games was held in Sapporo, Japan between 18–26 February at three venues (Tsukisamu Gymnasium, Mikaho Gymnasium and the Hoshioki Skating Rink). A total of 18 men's teams competed in three divisions (four in Top Division, six in Division I and eight in Division II), along with six women's teams. Originally 20 men's teams were scheduled to compete, however Bahrain withdrew. Iran was also scheduled to compete, however after arriving, more than half the team was deemed ineligible to represent the country due to eligibility issues. Thus the team was disqualified. However the country still played its matches as friendlies, but they did not count towards the standings. The 2023 IIHF Women's World Championship Division III comprised two international ice hockey tournaments of the 2023 Women's Ice Hockey World Championships organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The Group A tournament was played in Brașov, Romania, from 3 to 9 April, and the Group B tournament in Tnuvot, Israel, from 26 to 31 March 2023. International Ice Hockey Federation
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL).
