Hong Kong National Baseball Team
The Hong Kong national baseball team is the representative team for Hong Kong in international baseball competition. The team finished 6th in the 2007 Asian Baseball Championship. The WBSC Asia, formerly known as, Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) is the governing body of the sport of baseball and softball in Asia. The federation is governed by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. History The birth of Baseball Federation of Asia goes back to 1954 when the 2nd Asian Games was held in Manila, Philippines. The four countries of Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines organized a committee aiming at establishing Baseball Federation of Asia, and 7 May of the same year witnessed the commencement of BFA. American expatriate Charles Chick Parsons of the Philippines was elected as the first president of Baseball Federation of Asia. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Asian Baseball Championship
The Asian Baseball Championship is the main championship tournament between national baseball teams in Asia, governed by the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA). It is held every other year in odd-numbered years and since 1983 it also functions as the qualification games for the Baseball at the Summer Olympics if the event year is exactly one year before the Olympics. In even-numbered years, the Asian Baseball Cup is held, to determine two qualifiers — one from the Eastern Division and one from the Western Division — to join teams from China, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. ''City Without Baseball'' (; stylized: ; jyutping: mou4 je5 zi1 sing4) is a 2008 Hong Kong drama film starring Ron Heung and other members of the Hong Kong National Baseball Team. It is directed by South African-born Hong Kong filmmaker Lawrence Ah Mon, about a city where baseball is almost unknown, and where the team plays to empty stadia. The film explores several themes traditionally regarded as 'taboo' in Hong Kong society. Ron Heung
Adrian 'Ron' Heung Tze-Chun (born 1985), is a Hong Kong baseball player, actor and art director. He has appeared in a lead role in two films and as a supporting player in two others. He was also art director for the film ''Permanent Residence'' in 2009, and in the same year, appeared in the Hong Kong action film Rebellion (2009) as Chung. The following year, he worked in the art department for ''Amphetamine''. and in 2013, appeared as Adrian in the acclaimed Hong Kong film Voyage, set across Europe and Asia, and filmed in the English language. Sai Tso Wan Recreation Ground
Sai Tso Wan Recreation Ground () is a multi-purpose playground in Sai Tso Wan, Kwun Tong District, in eastern Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is the first permanent recreational facility built on a landfill in the city. History From 1978 to 1981, the knoll currently occupied by Sai Tso Wan Recreation Ground was known as Sai Tso Wan Landfill. The landfill served eastern Kowloon. During its operation, the landfill received approximately 1.6 million tonnes of domestic waste and commercial waste. Rubbish in the landfill was stacked up to high. Lam Tin is an area in the Kwun Tong District in southeastern New Kowloon, Hong Kong. Lam Tin is primarily a residential area but also hosts a major transport interchange and several shopping attractions. Lam Tin was once a large field in the vicinity of Kowloon Bay. Lion Rock Tunnel
The Lion Rock Tunnel, the first major road tunnel in Hong Kong, is a twin-bored toll tunnel, connecting Hin Tin, Sha Tin in the New Territories and New Kowloon near Kowloon Tong. It has two southbound lanes, and there are two northbound lanes in the Second Lion Rock Tunnel, with the toll booths located at the Sha Tin end. They are vital components of Route 1.
