Hong Kong International Piano Competition
The Hong Kong International Piano Competition was first held in 2005. It is organized by the Chopin Society of Hong Kong. Its Honorary President, Vladimir Ashkenazy, serving as the jury's chairman. The Hong Kong International Piano Competition is a triennial music event which brings some of the world's foremost pianists, musicians and master teachers to entertain and educate music students and music lovers in Hong Kong. The 4th Hong Kong International Piano Competition and Joy of Music Festival The 4th edition of the competition will be held from 10–27 October 2014 at Hong Kong City Hall, parallel with the Joy of Music Festival which is also organized by the Chopin Society of Hong Kong. The piano competition consists of four rounds. The first round takes place from 10 to 14 October, the second round (quarter finals) from 16 to 18 October, the third round (semi finals) on 20 and 21 October and the fourth and final round on 22, 23 and 24 October. Vladimir Ashkenazy
Vladimir Davidovich Ashkenazy (russian: Влади́мир Дави́дович Ашкена́зи, ''Vladimir Davidovich Ashkenazi''; born 6 July 1937) is an internationally recognized solo pianist, chamber music performer, and conductor. He is originally from Russia and has held Icelandic citizenship since 1972. He has lived in Switzerland since 1978. Ashkenazy has collaborated with well-known orchestras and soloists. In addition, he has recorded a large repertoire of classical and romantic works. His recordings have earned him five Grammy awards and Iceland's Order of the Falcon. Early life Vladimir Ashkenazy was born in Gorky, Soviet Union (now Nizhny Novgorod, Russia), to pianist and composer David Ashkenazi and to actress Yevstolia Grigorievna (born Plotnova). His father was Jewish and his mother came from a Russian Orthodox family. Ashkenazy was christened in a Russian Orthodox church.

Colleen Lee
Colleen Lee Ka-ling (; born 11 October 1980) is a Hong Kong pianist who won the 6th place prize in the XV International Chopin Piano Competition in 2005. Biography Lee began piano lessons when she was four, and started studying with Miss Eleanor Wong upon admission to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts two years later. She graduated valedictorian in 2001 (Bachelor’s) and again in 2003 (Professional Diploma), and has since been working with Arie Vardi at the Hochschule in Hannover, Germany. She has given recitals extensively on nearly every continent, in venues from Carnegie Hall in New York City to Chopin's Manor in Poland, and has collaborated with many major orchestras, performing works from Bach to world premieres of Tjeknavorian and others. Soo Jung Ann
Soo Jung Ann (; born 15 September 1987) is a South Korean pianist from Seoul. Ann was born to a musical family and started playing the piano at the age of six. Ann received her bachelor's degree from the Korean National University of Arts in Seoul. She completed John O'Conor's postgraduate course at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and is pursuing a doctoral degree there, while also studying under Pavel Gililov at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Ann has won several awards in international competitions. Hélène Tysman (born 30 December 1982, Paris, France) is a prizewinning French classical pianist. She studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Pierre-Laurent Aimard and later with Oleg Maisenberg in Vienna. Andrey Ponochevny ( be, Андрэй Паначэўны; born 31 December 1976) is a Belarusian-American pianist. Biography Ponochevny graduated from Belarusian Academy of Music where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees. Mei Yi Foo (, born 1980) is a Malaysian pianist who currently based in London. She has been taught by musicians such as Yonty Solomon, Chris Elton and Alexander Satz.
