Honeymoon Suite (hotel)
A honeymoon suite, or a 'romance suite', in a hotel or other places of accommodation denotes a suite with special amenities primarily aimed at couples and newlyweds. It is a form of niche marketing that likely originated during the 1920s with Niagara Falls providing small huts for couples to stay in near its site as a form of promotion. In ''The Second Greatest Disappointment: Honeymooning and Tourism at Niagara Falls'', author Karen Dubinsky refers to one campground owner in particular who named his cabins "honeymoon huts". However, there were no mentions of "honeymoon suites" in any advertorial literature at Niagara. According to Dubinsky, such targeted promotions towards honeymooners began only in the 1930 and 1940s, further increasing post the Second World War. Suite (hotel)
A suite in a hotel or other public accommodation (e.g. a cruise ship) denotes, according to most dictionary definitions, connected rooms under one room number. Hotels may refer to suites as a class of accommodations with more space than a typical hotel room, but technically speaking there should be more than one room to constitute a true suite. In luxury or upscale accommodations, such as Ritz Carlton, InterContinental, Marriott, Westin, Four Seasons, Shangri-La or St. Regis, key features may include multiple rooms. Many independent properties have one or more honeymoon suites. The most luxurious accommodation in a hotel is often called the presidential suite or royal suite. Upper-midscale accommodations, such as Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, and Candlewood Suites, may denote suites as one room with more space and furniture than a standard hotel room, and so technically these would not be considered suites of rooms per se. Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls () is a group of three waterfalls at the southern end of Niagara Gorge, spanning the border between the province of Ontario in Canada and the state of New York in the United States. Presidential Suite
Presidential suite and Royal suite are common names for the most expensive suite in a luxury hotel. The Presidential suite gained its name during the Woodrow Wilson presidency (1913–1921) because on each of his political trips away from Washington, he would insist on having a hotel room conform to specific requirements for his visit. In the United States, Presidential Suites since have adhered by tradition to Woodrow Wilson's specifications. It must be south-facing in the Northern Hemisphere and north-facing in the Southern Hemisphere, containing an "en-suite" bathroom and walk-in closet (in Wilson's era en-suite bathrooms were uncommon). Famous presidential suites can be found in the Plaza Hotel in New York City, and The Fairmont San Francisco.
