Honey West
Honey West is a fictional character created by the husband and wife writing team Gloria and Forest Fickling under the pseudonym "G.G. Fickling", and appearing in eleven mystery novels by the duo. The character is notable as being one of the first female private detectives in popular fiction. She first appeared in the 1957 book ''This Girl for Hire'' and would appear in nine novels before being retired in the mid-1960s, with two comeback novels in 1971. Creation The Honey West character was created by Gloria and Forrest E. "Skip" Fickling under the pseudonym "G.G. Fickling" in the late 1950s. Forrest Fickling had been a United States Army Air Forces air gunner during World War II; he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve after the war, and as a member of that service was called back to active duty during the Korean War. Edward Joseph Gorman Jr. (November 2, 1941 – October 14, 2016) was an American writer and short fiction anthologist. He published in almost every genre, but is best known for his work in the crime, mystery, western, and horror fields. His non-fiction work has been published in such publications as ''The New York Times'' and ''Redbook''. He has contributed to many magazines and other publications, including '' Xero'', '' Black Lizard'', ''Mystery Scene'', '' Cemetery Dance'', and the anthology '' Tales of Zorro''. Ronn Sutton (born December 17, 1952) is a Canadian illustrator and comic book artist that has drawn several hundred comic books over the past four decades. This includes a nine-year stint illustrating nearly 50 issues of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark for Claypool Comics from 1998 to 2006. Ronn's comics career began in 1973 with his artwork appearing in issues of the Canadian newsstand comic ORB Magazine, as well as anonymously penciling and inking many pages of Howard Chaykin's Sword of Sorcery for DC Comics (although he hid his initials drawn into a sword handle in issue #3, page 23). John Ericson (sometimes spelled Erickson; September 25, 1926 – May 3, 2020) was a German-American film and television actor known primarily for his co-star role with actress Anne Francis on the ABC television series '' Honey West'' in the 1965-66 season.
