The XR650L is a dual-sport motorcycle manufactured by Honda, part of the Honda XR series. It was released in 1992 as a 1993 model. It combines the RFVC engine from the proven NX650 Dominator dual sport with the lighter, off-road capable XR600R chassis, which is not road legal in the US (the XR600R). Honda XR Series
The Honda XR series is a range of four-stroke off-road motorcycles that were designed in Japan but assembled all over the world. Some of the XR series came in two versions: R and L. The R version bikes were enduro machines designed for off-road competitive riding. They were fitted with knobby off-road tires and were not always street legal. The L version models were dual-sport trailbikes, fitted with lights, indicators, horn, and street-legal tires. Small XR models Small XR models include the XR50R, XR70R, XR75R, XR80R and XR100R. Four-stroke Engine
A four-stroke (also four-cycle) engine is an internal combustion (IC) engine in which the piston completes four separate strokes while turning the crankshaft. A stroke refers to the full travel of the piston along the cylinder, in either direction. The four separate strokes are termed: #Intake: Also known as induction or suction. This stroke of the piston begins at top dead center (T.D.C.) and ends at bottom dead center (B.D.C.). Air-cooled engines rely on the circulation of air directly over heat dissipation fins or hot areas of the engine to cool them in order to keep the engine within operating temperatures. The Honda XR600R is an offroad motorcycle with an air-cooled single cylinder, four-stroke engine. The bike was manufactured by Honda from 1985 to 2000 and is part of the Honda XR series. The Honda NX650 Dominator is a dual-sport motorcycle. It was manufactured by Honda from 1988 to 2003. Design Its engine is slightly larger than that of the XR600R, which debuted in 1985. The 97 x 80 mm bore engine was enlarged to 100 mm and stroked to 82mm for 644cc. With 44 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, the engine had 53 N⋅m of torque at 5,000 rpm. A disc brake is a type of brake that uses the calipers to squeeze pairs of pads against a disc or a "rotor" to create friction. This action slows the rotation of a shaft, such as a vehicle axle, either to reduce its rotational speed or to hold it stationary.
