Homiyu Tesfaye
Homiyu Tesfaye Heyi (born 23 June 1993) is an Ethiopian-Germany, German middle-distance runner, middle- and long-distance runner. After claiming political asylum he began competing for Germany and came fifth in the 1500 metres at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. He won his first German indoor title in 2012 and claimed his first outdoor title (over 10,000 metres) the following year. A winner of numerous German under-20 and under-23 titles, he was accused of being Henok Tesfaye Heyi (an Ethiopian runner who is three years older) and thus of falsifying his age in competition. Age Fabrication
Age fabrication occurs when people deliberately misrepresent their true age. This is usually done with the intention to garner privileges or status that would not otherwise be available to that person (i.e., a minor misrepresenting their age in order to garner the privileges given to adults). It may be done through the use of oral or written statements or through the altering, doctoring or forging of vital records. Carsten Schlangen (born 31 December 1980) is a German middle distance runner who specialises in the 1500 metres. Born in Meppen, West Germany, his first major competition was the 2006 European Athletics Championships where he finished tenth in the heats of the 1500 m. He competed at the Internationales Stadionfest in 2006 – his first IAAF Golden League meeting. He reached the global stage in 2008 and just missed out on the 1500 m at the 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships. He made it to the semi-finals of the 1500 m at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games but again closely missed out on making the final. At the 2009 European Athletics Indoor Championships, he finished fourth in his heat but did not progress to the final. Weltklasse Zürich ( en, World Class Zurich) is an annual, invitation-only, world-class track and field meeting at the Letzigrund in Zürich, Switzerland, generally held at the end of August or beginning of September. The men's 1500 metres at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 14–18 August. For those competitors lucky enough to get into semifinal 1, they were treated to a rather pedestrian tactical race controlled by defending champion, Olympic champion and world leader Asbel Kiprop. If you can't kick with him, you go home. Semifinal 2 was a different story with a much faster pace all the time qualifiers came from this race, with several also rans left out with times faster than Kiprop. With three Kenyans qualified, rumors were out that there would be a fast pace for the final. That wasn't the case, first Kiprop looked around for his teammates and they weren't there.
