Chon (band)
Chon (sometimes stylized as CHON) was an American progressive rock and math rock band from Oceanside, California. Their music is largely instrumental with only a few songs containing vocal performances. The band consists of Mario Camarena (guitar), Erick Hansel (guitar), Esiah Camarena (bass) and Nathan Camarena (drums). History Early career In 2008, they began releasing demos via the internet. In 2010, the band began a brief hiatus, but reunited in 2011 to record two new songs, "O.G." and "Breathe". They returned in 2013 with the release of their debut EP entitled ''Newborn Sun''. In 2014, Chon released their second EP, entitled ''Woohoo!'' and embarked on two consecutive nationwide tours with Animals as Leaders. Math Rock
Math rock is a style of progressive and indie rock with roots in bands such as King Crimson and Rush as well as 20th-century minimal music composers such as Steve Reich. It is characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures (including irregular stopping and starting), counterpoint, odd time signatures, angular melodies, and extended, often dissonant, chords. Micah Davis (born June 8, 1993), known professionally as Masego (), is a Jamaican-American musician and singer known for incorporating the saxophone into his music. Tyler Joseph Acord (born September 12, 1990), also known by his stage name Lophiile and formerly known as Scout, is an American record producer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter born in Lakewood, Washington. He is a member of the English-American R&B group Radiant Children and is a former member of the American metalcore band Issues. Anthony Crawford (born June 29, 1981) is an American bassist, songwriter, producer, and recording artist from Memphis, Tennessee. He is best known for working with Chon, Allan Holdsworth, Justin Timberlake, Peabo Bryson, Howard Hewett, Shalamar, Kirk Whalum, Phil Perry, Glen Jones, and Karen Briggs.
