''Homesick'' ( no, De nærmeste) is a 2015 Norwegian drama film directed by Anne Sewitsky. It was selected to be screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. It was one of three films shortlisted by Norway to be their submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards, but it lost out to '' The Wave''. Anne Sewitsky (born 12 January 1978) is a Norwegian film director. Her 2010 film '' Happy, Happy'' was selected as the Norwegian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards, but did not make the final shortlist. In 2015, her film Homesick was one of three films shortlisted by Norway to be their submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards, but it lost out to '' The Wave''. 2015 Toronto International Film Festival
The 40th annual Toronto International Film Festival was held from 10 to 20 September 2015. On 28 July 2015 the first wave of films to be screened at the Festival was announced. Jean-Marc Vallée's ''Demolition'' starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts was the opening night film; '' Mr. Right'' by Paco Cabezas was the closing night film. The year's edition included two new sections called Platform and Primetime. At Platform, twelve films will be screened in front of a jury, with the best film of the program winning the C$25,000 Platform Prize. ''The Wave'' ( no, Bølgen) is a 2015 Norwegian disaster film directed by Roar Uthaug. It was Norway's official submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards but failed to be nominated. The movie depicts the Åkerneset crevice collapsing in Møre og Romsdal, creating an avalanche resulting in an tall tsunami that destroys everything in its path. Ine Marie Wilmann (born 18 February 1985) is a Norwegian stage, film and television actress. Her awards include Amanda in 2015 and 2023, and Gullruten in 2016. Anneke von der Lippe (born 22 July 1964) is a Norwegian actress. She made history as the first Norwegian actress – and Nordic - to win an International Emmy Award. Genetic sexual attraction is a concept in which a strong sexual attraction may develop between close blood relatives who first meet as adults. There is no evidence for genetic sexual attraction being an actual phenomenon, and the hypothesis is regarded as pseudoscience.
