Homesdale
''Homesdale'' is a 1971 Australian film directed by Peter Weir. ''Homesdale'' is a black comedy about visitors at a guest-house acting out their violent private fantasies and games under the control of the house staff. Plot Several people gather at the Homesdale Hunting Lodge including butcher/rock singer Mr. Kevin, war veteran Mr. Vaughan, an octogenarian Mr. Levy. All are tormented by Homesdale's staff and forced to participate in a series of games about death and murder in which the true character of the guests starts to emerge. Peter Weir
Peter Lindsay Weir ( ; born August 21, 1944) is a retired Australian film director. He's known for directing films crossing various genres over forty years with films such as '' Picnic at Hanging Rock'' (1975), ''Gallipoli'' (1981), ''Witness'' (1985), ''Dead Poets Society'' (1989), ''Fearless'' (1993), ''The Truman Show'' (1998), '' Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World'' (2003), and '' The Way Back'' (2010). Grahame John Bond AM (born 21 November 1943) is an Australian actor, writer, director, musician and composer, known primarily for his role as Aunty Jack. Early career Bond began his career in entertainment at University of Sydney in the 1960s as a founding student member of the Sydney University Architecture Revue, which included his university friends, then architect Geoffrey Atherden (writer ''Mother and Son''); director Peter Weir; composer Peter Best; and Rory O'Donoghue. Geoffrey T. Malone (1943 - 17 February 2022) was an Australian architect who was based in Singapore and the founder of the Singapore International Film Festival. Early life Malone was born in Australia in 1943. Career Prior to moving to Singapore, he acted in the Peter Weir films ''Homesdale'' and ''The Cars That Ate Paris''. Malone designed Crystal Court on River Valley Road, which was completed in 1983, as well as the Palisades condominium, which was completed in 1985. The Cat And The Canary (1927 Film)
''The Cat and the Canary'' is a 1927 American silent comedy horror film directed by the German Expressionist filmmaker Paul Leni. An adaptation of John Willard's 1922 black-comedy play of the same name, the film stars Laura La Plante as Annabelle West, Forrest Stanley as Charlie Wilder, and Creighton Hale as Paul Jones. The plot revolves around the death of Cyrus West, who is Annabelle, Charlie, and Paul's uncle, and the reading of his will twenty years later. Annabelle inherits her uncle's fortune, but when she and her family spend the night in his haunted mansion, they are stalked by a mysterious figure. Meanwhile, a lunatic mainly known as the Cat escapes from an asylum and hides in the mansion. The film is part of the genre of comedy horror films inspired by 1920s Broadway stage plays.
