Homer Comes Home
''Homer Comes Home'' is a 1920 American silent comedy drama film directed by Jerome Storm and written by Alexander Hull and Agnes Christine Johnston. The film stars Charles Ray, Otto Hoffman, Priscilla Bonner, Ralph McCullough, Walter Higby, John Elliott, and Harry Hyde. Plot Homer Cavender is regarded as a failure by the people in his hometown, because he has been fired from just about every job. The only person sorry to see him go is Rachel Prouty, daughter of one of the town's leading citizens. He goes to work as a clerk for Bailly and Kort. Two years after he started working, Homer finds he is not progressing rapidly enough. He has an idea of creating a factory in his hometown. But the venture requires money to get off the ground. His bosses refuses to finance the venture. However, Homer has managed to save $300. With his cash, he returns home on the Lightning Express, which carries only important people. Jerome Storm
Jerome Storm (November 11, 1890 – July 10, 1958) was an American film director, actor, and writer. He acted in 48 films between 1914 and 1941 and directed 47 films between 1918 and 1932. He was born in Denver, Colorado, and died in Desert Hot Springs, California. Studio System by Gracenote, formerly known as Baseline StudioSystems, is an American e-commerce company. It was founded in 1982 and licenses its commercial entertainment database, known as Studio System. It is owned by Gracenote, a subsidiary of Nielsen Holdings. Bert Woodruff
William Herbert "Bert" Woodruff (April 29, 1856 – June 14, 1934) was an American actor of the silent era. Woodruff was born in Peoria, Illinois, and was the son of Mrs. Hannah Woodruff. He performed on stage before he began acting on film, debuting in 1876 as part of the Woodruff and West song-and-dance act. His performances included blackface comedy and Irish specialties. In 1882, he became part of the Adelphi Theater stock company in Peoria, where he worked for seven years. In 1898, Woodruff moved into management, opening a vaudeville theater in Peoria and managing it until 1904. From there he went to Redondo Beach, California, where he opened the city's first theater for films. He appeared in more than 60 films between 1916 and 1931. Joseph Hazelton
Joseph H. Hazelton (c. 1853 – October 6, 1936), aka Joseph Hazleton, was an American stage and film actor. He appeared in 30 films between 1912 and 1922. As a boy program giver at Ford's Theatre, he witnessed the assassination of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865. Life and career Hazelton debuted on stage as a child when a production at Grover's Theater in Washington, D.C. needed a boy to play a young prince in '' King John''. Thereafter, he continued to stay around the theater, doing odd jobs and handing out programs. In 1910, he was a member of the Columbia Players in Washington, D.C. When the Pasadena Community Playhouse presented ''Our American Cousin'' in 1930, Hazelton spoke during intermission of each performance, relating what he witnessed as he observed the assassination. Gus "Pop" Leonard (February 4, 1859 – March 27, 1939) was an American film actor. Biography The French-born actor began his long career on the stage in San Francisco, California, while he was still a child in the 1860s. In later years, he specialised in a drunken waiter act in vaudeville. Leonard started his film career in 1915 and mostly played supporting roles in slapstick comedies. He appeared in nearly 190 films between 1916 and 1937. He appeared in the '' Our Gang'' comedies: '' Mush and Milk'', '' Teacher's Beau'' and '' The Lucky Corner''. Leonard died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Los Angeles, California on March 27, 1939, aged 80.
