''Home for the Weekend'' (german: Was bleibt) is a 2012 German drama film directed by Hans-Christian Schmid. The film competed in competition at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in February 2012. Plot Gitte and Günter are in the publishing business and live a bourgeois lifestyle. They have two sons in mid-thirties, Marko a writer who is struggling with family life and Jakob a dentist who has started private clinic and is losing money. They both are called down for a visit for celebrating their retirement from the publishing business. Gitte who suffers from clinical depression, announces her decision to go off her medication after a brief period of Homeopathy and Traditional Chinese medicine. The family gets upset by the decision which further throws off Gitte. Gitte who seemingly seems to be in control is faced with an unsupportive family who isn't ready to accept her as a person than a patient. Hans-Christian Schmid
Hans-Christian Schmid (born 1965) is a German film director and screenwriter. Life and work Hans-Christian Schmid has collaborated with on several of the movies that he directed. Gutmann wrote screenplays for ''23 (film), 23 — Nichts ist so wie es scheint'' (1998), and ''Crazy (2000 film), Crazy'' (2000). Gutmann also directed ' (2001) for which he and Schmid wrote the screenplay. Lars Eidinger
Lars Eidinger (; born 21 January 1976) is a German actor. Eidinger started his career at Deutsches Theater in 1997. Before his breakthrough, he played minor roles in German television shows like ''Schloss Einstein'' (2002) and ''Berlin, Berlin'' (2003). In February 2016, he was nominated as one of the judges for the main competition section of the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. He is a member of the ensemble of the Schaubühne theatre in Berlin, with leading roles in Thomas Ostermeier productions such as Hamlet and Richard III. Eidinger was one of the first signers of the Open Letter to the German Position on Russo-Ukrainian War on late April 2022, demanded that Germany not support Ukraine with arms in order to "prevent a third world war". Eidinger lives in Berlin, is married and has a daughter. He has appeared in German and international film and television productions. 62nd Berlin International Film Festival
The 62nd annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 9 to 19 February 2012. British film director Mike Leigh was the President of the Jury. The first five films to be screened in the competition were announced on 19 December 2011. American actress Meryl Streep was presented with the Honorary Golden Bear on 14 February. Benoît Jacquot's film '' Les adieux à la reine'' was announced as the opening film. Corinna Harfouch
Corinna Harfouch (; née Meffert; 16 October 1954) is a German actress. Life and work Harfouch was born in Suhl, East Germany, the daughter of the teacher Wolfgang Meffert and his wife Marianne (née Kleber). She worked as a nurse and studied acting in Berlin from 1978 to 1981. Her first husband was a Lebanese computer scientist named Nabil Harfouch, with whom she has one daughter.
