''Home Run'' is a 2013 Christian film industry, Christian Sports film, sports drama film directed by David Boyd (cinematographer), David Boyd and stars Scott Elrod, Dorian Brown, Vivica A. Fox. the film was released in theaters on April 19, 2013. Plot Pro baseball player Cory Brand is forced into a rehabilitation program in his Oklahoma hometown after several alcohol-related incidents. He is responsible for injuring his brother in an alcohol-related crash. Cory reluctantly enters a Celebrate Recovery. He eventually finds new hope when he gets honest about his checkered past, and takes on coaching duties for a Little League team. A remake of the award-winning Iranian film ''Children of Heaven'', ''Homerun'' is a drama about two poor siblings and their adventures over a lost pair of shoes. Set in 1965, the year Singapore Singapore in Malaysia#Expulsion, separated from Malaysia, the film satirises the Foreign relations of Singapore#Malaysia, political relations between the two countries, leading to its Censorship in Malaysia, banning in Malaysia. Barry Lyons (baseball)
Barry Stephen Lyons (born June 3, 1960) is an American former professional baseball catcher. He played ten seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1986 to 1995 for the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, and Chicago White Sox. Amateur career Lyons was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, graduated from Biloxi High School and attended Delta State University where he was an NCAA All-American catcher. In 1979 and 1981, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League and was named a league all-star in 1981. He was taken in the 25th round of the 1981 Major League Baseball Draft by the Detroit Tigers but did not sign. He was then taken in the 15th round of the 1982 draft by the Mets and agreed to a contract. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Although the name "Rotten Tomatoes" connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor stage performance, the original inspiration comes from a scene featuring tomatoes in the Canadian film ''Léolo'' (1992). Since January 2010, Rotten Tomatoes has been owned by Flixster, which was in turn acquired by Warner Bros in 2011. In February 2016, Rotten Tomatoes and its parent site Flixster were sold to Comcast's Fandango. Warner Bros. retained a minority stake in the merged entities, including Fandango. Jose Alvarez (baseball)
Jose Lino Alvarez (born April 12, 1956) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. He played four seasons at the major league level, pitching for the Atlanta Braves. He played for the Braves in 1981 and 1982, then spent five seasons in the minor leagues before returning to the Braves in 1988 and 1989. After a successful season in 1988 and earning the Atlanta Braves Most Outstanding Pitcher Award, Jose began the 1989 season in fine fashion with 2 wins and a save. Álvarez attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he played baseball for the USL Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team. Brett Butler (baseball)
Brett Morgan Butler (born June 15, 1957) is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball and current base running/outfield coach for the Miami Marlins. He played for five different teams from 1981 through 1997. Butler's best season came in 1991, when he made the National League All-Star team. He was diagnosed with cancer in May 1996, received treatment and returned to the playing field four months later. He retired in 1997 and began a baseball coaching career. He has coached or managed numerous professional teams. He was the manager of the Reno Aces minor league team from late 2008 through 2013. Jim Sundberg
James Howard Sundberg (born May 18, 1951) is an American former professional baseball player, television sports analyst and executive. He played in Major League Baseball as a catcher from 1974 to 1989. A three-time All-Star player, Sundberg established himself as one of the top defensive catchers of his era by winning six consecutive Gold Glove Awards with the Texas Rangers. Later in his career, he won a World Series championship as a member of the Kansas City Royals in 1985. He also played for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs.
