Home Free (group)
Home Free is an American country a cappella group of five vocalists: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance. Starting as a show group, they toured with approximately 200 shows a year across the United States. The group won the The Sing-Off (season 4), fourth season of ''The Sing-Off'' on NBC in 2013. They sang an arrangement of Hunter Hayes' "I Want Crazy" as their final competitive song, earning the group $100,000 and a recording contract with Sony BMG, Sony. The band released their first major label album, ''Crazy Life'', in February 2014. Their most recent album, ''So Long Dixie'', was released in November 2022. History Home Free was originally formed in January 2001 by Chris Rupp in Mankato, Minnesota, Mankato, Minnesota, when some of its members were still in their teens. Fanu is the alias of music DJ, producer, and label founder Janne Hatula (born October 8, 1980). Based in Helsinki, Finland, Hatula composes drum and bass and electronic music. Nnenna Freelon (born July 28, 1954) is an American jazz singer, composer, producer, and arranger. Early life and education Freelon was born Chinyere Nnenna Pierce to Charles and Frances Pierce in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she was raised. She has a brother Melvin and a sister named Debbie. As a young woman, she sang extensively in her community and the Union Baptist Church and at St. Paul AME. She recalled, "I started singing in the church, like so many others...." Nnenna graduated from Simmons College in Boston with a degree in health care administration. For a while she worked for the Durham County Hospital Corporation, Durham, North Carolina. ''Home Free!'' is a one-act play by American playwright Lanford Wilson. The play is among Wilson's earlier works, and was first produced off-off-Broadway at the Caffe Cino in 1964. Production history The play premiered at Joe Cino's Caffe Cino in New York City in January 1964 and was revived there in August 1964. The production was directed by William Archibald. In 1965, the play was produced alongside Wilson's ''No Trespassing'' for the La MaMa Repertory Troupe's first European tour. It was produced alongside '' The Madness of Lady Bright'' on tour in London in 1968. ''Home Free!'' was produced off-Broadway in February 1965 at the New Playwrights series at the Cherry Lane Theatre. The play was presented in a production of three plays. Annie Fanny, the title character, is a statuesque, buxom young blonde woman who innocently finds herself nude in every episode.
