Friedl Kjellberg
Friedl Kjellberg ( Holzer, from 1932 Holzer-Kjellberg; 24 October 1905 — 11 September 1993) was an Austrian-Finnish ceramicist, noted especially for her work with the so-called 'rice grain' method of porcelain-making. Career Friedl Holzer studied art and design in her native Austria, at the ''Kunstgewerbeschule'' design school in Graz, and upon graduating was offered a position as a designer at the Arabia ceramics manufacturer in Helsinki, Finland. She joined the company in 1924, and stayed there her entire career, until her retirement 46 years later in 1971. In 1932, Friedl Holzer married her colleague at Arabia, engineer Erik Kjellberg, and was thereafter alternately known both as Friedl Kjellberg and Holzer-Kjellberg. Hans Holzer (26 January 1920 – 26 April 2009) was an Austrian-American author and parapsychologist. He wrote more than 120 books on supernatural and occult subjects for the popular market as well as several plays, musicals, films, and documentaries, and hosted a television show, ''Ghost Hunter'' (not to be confused with '' Ghost Hunters''). Life and career Holzer was born in Vienna, Austria, the son of Martha (Stransky) and Leo Holzer, a businessman. He serves as director of Hunter College's Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute. Jerzy Stanisław Holzer (24 August 1930, Warsaw - 14 January 2015) was a Polish historian. He specialized in the Polish history, German history, and the Polish-German relations. In 1950-1954 he studied history at the University of Warsaw. From 1954 to 2000 he worked at the Institute of History of the university. In October 1990 he gained the title of professor. Holzer worked at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and at Collegium Civitas, he was a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Johann Evangelist Holzer (December 24, 1709 – July 21, 1740) was an Austrian-German painter. Holzer was born in Burgeis, Mals, in the Vinschgau Valley of South Tyrol, as the son of a miller. He was sent to undertake a classical course of study at Marienberg Abbey, but wished to study art; a portrait he painted of Johann Baptist Murr, then the abbot of the abbey, convinced his father to yield to his wishes. He studied under Nikolaus Auer and made rapid progress. At the age of 18 he painted the altarpiece of the Marienberg Abbey church, depicting Saint Joseph as patron of the afflicted, ill, and dying. He then went to Straubing, where he learned under Joseph Anton Merz how to paint frescos, which would become the main source of his later fame.
