Holy Water Joe
''Holy Water Joe'' ( it, Acquasanta Joe) is a 1971 Italian Spaghetti Western film directed by Mario Gariazzo. Plot In the immediate aftermath of the American Civil War (1861-1865), Jeff Donovan's outlaw gang, disguised as soldiers of both the Confederacy and the Union, rob banks using a cannon concealed in a wagon. A man about town by the name of Holy Water Joe, called such to differentiate between him and his father, Fire Water Joe, finds himself penniless when all his savings are gone due to a bank robbery by the Donovan gang. Joe finds an opportunity to recoup some of his losses when he captures a deserter from the gang and sells him to Donovan, that creates double dealing and gunplay. Mario Gariazzo
Mario Gariazzo (4 June 1930 – 18 March 2002) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He wrote for 21 films between 1969 and 1992. He also directed 18 films between 1962 and 1992. He was born in Biella, Italy and died in Rome, Italy at age 71. Gariazzo is known to horror film fans for directing ''The Eerie Midnight Horror Show'' in 1974, and ''White Slave'' in 1985. He also directed the 1978 Italian science fiction film ''Eyes Behind The Stars''. He worked with Klaus Kinski, Ivan Rassimov, Richard Harrison, Ray Lovelock, Martin Balsam and other genre stars. Dante Maggio (2 March 1909 – 3 March 1992) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in 115 films between 1940 and 1975. Born in Naples into a family of actors, Maggio had a turbulent adolescence that led his father to send him in an institute for problematic minors. Marcello Giombini (24 July 1928 in Rome, Italy – 12 December 2003 in Assisi, Italy) was an Italian composer, well known for scoring many Spaghetti Westerns, Italian horror and giallo movies, and 1960s peplum films. Tuccio Musumeci (born 20 April 1934) is an Italian actor and comedian.
