Holmes-Shannon House
The Holmes-Shannon House is a Craftsman style home with Tudor influences. History It was built in 1911 in the Victoria Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Designed by Robert Farquhar Train and Robert Edmund Williams, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 2008 based on its well-preserved Craftsman architecture. It is also listed as a Historic-Cultural Monument by the City of Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission, which described it as "a residential building designed in the Tudor-Craftsman style by a prominent firm and reflective of the development of Victoria Park". The interior was used in 2012 in the fifth episode "''Open House of Horrors''" of the fourth season of the American sitcom ''Modern Family'', while the exterior was shot at the Miller and Herriott House in Los Angeles. John Holmes House
John Holmes House, also known as the Cresse–Holmes House, is located at 504 U.S. Route 9 North in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township in Cape May County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 12, 1979, for its significance in vernacular Georgian architecture. With It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1992. History The house was originally thought to have been built in 1755 by Robert Cresse. Later research has shown that the oldest part of the house was built by John Cresse, his father. The "newer" portion of the house was built by Robert Morris Holmes, son of John Holmes, in 1830. The house has been owned by the Cape May County Historical and Genealogical Society since 1976. Museum The house is now operated as the Museum of Cape May County, and features an 18th-century period kitchen, bedroom and 1830 dining room and a Victorian sitting room. Benjamin Holmes House
Benjamin Holme House also known as "Holmeland" is located in Elsinboro Township in Salem, Salem County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1729 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 31, 1978. The original property expanded over 1,600 acres, with a ferry running to New Castle, DE. The house was looted and burned by the British during The American Revolution, and was later rebuilt, adding the East section of the house in the 1780s. Holmes–Tallman House
The Holmes–Tallman House is a large farmhouse with Carpenter's Italianate style located northwest of Jamesburg, at the corner of County Route 535 (Cranbury-South River Road) and County Route 522 (Rhode Hall Road, formerly Brown's Corner Road), in Monroe Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Also known as Brown's Corner House, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 12, 1979, for its significance in architecture. With History and description The house was built by Francis Holmes. It was then purchased by Jacob B. Tallman in 1870. Built of wood, it features a three-story cubical main section with a two-story wing in the back. A one-story porch with eyelet jigsaw work spans the front and sides. The hip roof has a square cupola.
