Hollywood (Circle Album)
''Hollywood'' is the thirty-second album by Finnish experimental rock band Circle. Arguably their most overtly heavy metal album, it features vocals and guitar from Bruce Duff from the band Jesters of Destiny. The band's relationship with Duff began when Jussi Lehtisalo re-released Jesters' album Fun at the Funeral on his Ektro Records label. Following on from Duff's first collaboration with the band, Earthworm in 2006 (two tracks from that release, ''Connection'' and ''Earthworm'', re-appear here), the American performer takes centre stage on ''Hollywood'', which is named after his hometown. Final track ''Suddenly'', part of a three-song suite called ''Requiem in D Minor'', re-uses the music from the track ''Murheenkryyni'' which appears on the band's last two albums, '' Rakennus'' and ''Triumph''. Track listing # Connection (3:43) # Mercy And Tuesday (7:53) # Earthworm (5:12) # Sacrifice (4:03) # Spam Folder (8:12) #Requiem in D Minor: #* Hard to Realize (4:20) #* Madman (15 ...

Experimental Rock
Experimental rock, also called avant-rock, is a subgenre of rock music that pushes the boundaries of common composition and performance technique or which experiments with the basic elements of the genre. Artists aim to liberate and innovate, with some of the genre's distinguishing characteristics being improvisation (music), improvisational performances, avant-garde influences, odd instrumentation, opaque lyrics (or instrumentals), unorthodox structures and rhythms, and an underlying rejection of commercial aspirations. From its inception, rock music was experimental, but it was not until the late 1960s that rock artists began creating extended and complex compositions through advancements in multitrack recording. In 1967, the genre was as commercially viable as Popular music, pop music, but by 1970, most of its leading players had incapacitated themselves in some form. In Germany, the krautrock subgenre merged elements of improvisation and psychedelic rock with electronic music, ...

Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. During the mid-1970s, Judas Priest helped spur the genre's evolution by discarding much of its blues influence,Walser (1993), p. 6 while Motörhea ...

Jesters Of Destiny
Jesters of Destiny is a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, which was formed in 1984 by Bruce Duff (bass/vocals, who had been booted from 45 Grave earlier in the year) and guitarist Ray Violet. Evolving from a recording project spearheaded by Violet, who was working as the house engineer for Dawnbreaker studio in San Fernando, CA (previously owned by Seals and Crofts), the band recorded what would be the first two Jesters songs during the project, which was instigated in order to come up with commercial jingles. The songs were "Diggin' That Grave" and "End of Time." The band presented the songs to Metal Blade Records, who included "End of Time" on Metal Massacre V collection. Fun At The Funeral
Fun is defined by the ''Oxford English Dictionary'' as "Light-hearted pleasure, enjoyment, or amusement; boisterous joviality or merrymaking; entertainment". Etymology and usage The word ''fun'' is associated with sports, entertaining media, high merriment, and amusement. Although its etymology is uncertain, it has been speculated that it may be derived from Middle English ' (fool) and ' (the one fooling the other). An 18th century meaning (still used in Orkney and Shetland) was "cheat, trick, hoax", a meaning still retained in the phrase "to make fun of". The way the word ''fun'' is used demonstrates its distinctive elusiveness and happiness. Expressions such as "Have fun!" and "That was fun!" indicate that fun is pleasant, personal, and to some extent unpredictable. Expressions such as "I was making fun of myself" convey the sense that fun is something that can be amusing and not to be taken seriously. The adjective "funny" has two meanings, which often need to be clari ...
