Holly And The Italians
Holly Beth Vincent (born Holly Beth Cernuto in 1956) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. In her youth Vincent sang and played drums and guitar in several bands and took part in the Los Angeles punk scene. In 1978, she formed Holly and the Italians and moved to London, England, where the band was welcomed by the British press and gained a recording contract with Virgin Records on the strength of the single " Tell That Girl to Shut Up". Holly and the Italians' debut album '' The Right to Be Italian'' had a troubled and long production and was a commercial failure, which led to the band's dissolution at the end of 1980, after a US tour supporting The Clash and the Ramones. Vincent recorded under her name the album '' Holly and the Italians'' in the UK and was then deported to the US by the British authorities. The Clash
The Clash were an English rock band formed in London in 1976 who were key players in the original wave of British punk rock. Billed as "The Only Band That Matters", they also contributed to the and new wave movements that emerged in the wake of punk and employed elements of a variety of genres including reggae, dub, funk, ska, and rockabilly. For most of their recording career, the Clash consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Joe Strummer, lead guitarist and vocalist Mick Jones, bassist Paul Simonon, and drummer Nicky "Topper" Headon. The Move
The Move were a British rock band of the late 1960s and the early 1970s. They scored nine top 20 UK singles in five years, but were among the most popular British bands not to find any real success in the United States. For most of their career the Move were led by guitarist, singer and songwriter Roy Wood. He wrote all the group's UK singles and, from 1968, also sang lead vocals on many songs. Initially, the band had four main vocalists (Wood, Carl Wayne, Trevor Burton and Chris "Ace" Kefford) who divided amongst themselves the lead vocal duties. Bob Vincent (born March 7, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan – June 25, 2005 in Fullerton, California) was an American big band singer and theatrical agent. Born Vincent John Cernuto, he started singing in bands in the 1940s. He was the featured vocalist on the song "You Call Everybody Darlin'", as recorded by Al Trace in 1948. This recording peaked at No. 1. Vincent started his theatrical agent career by taking over Julius J. "Bookie" Levin's Mutual Entertainment agency.
