''Holiday in Biarritz'' is a 1957 Australian TV play, adapted from a French play by Jean Sarment. It aired on 20 May 1957 and ran for 30 minutes. It was directed by Eric McCleery from the ABC's studios at Rippon Lea. It was based on a radio play that had been performed on Australia radio in 1953. It had also been performed on British TV in 1953. Plot A French stationmaster, George Dupont, wants to spend a holiday at Biarritz. Jean Sarment
Jean Sarment, real name Jean Bellemère, (13 January 1897 – 29 March 1976) was a French film and stage actor and a writer. He was nominated administrator of the Comédie-Française in July 1944 although he won't occupy the position. Truth (Sydney Newspaper)
''Truth'' was a newspaper published in Sydney, Australia. It was founded in August 1890 by William Nicholas Willis and its first editor was Adolphus Taylor. In 1891 it claimed to be "The organ of radical democracy and Australian National Independence" and advocated "a republican Commonwealth created by the will of the whole people", but from its early days it was mainly a scandal sheet. Subsequent owners included Adolphus Taylor, Paddy Crick and John Norton. Norton established several subsidiaries, including the ''Sportsman'' (1900), the ''Brisbane Truth'' (1900), the Melbourne ''Truth'' (1902) and the Perth ''Truth'' (1903 to 1931), and an Adelaide ''Truth'' (1916-1964)''.'' ''Roundabout'' is a television movie, or rather a live television play, which aired on Australian television in 1957. Broadcast 4 January 1957 on ABC station ABV-2, it is notable as the first example of television drama produced in Melbourne. It was made at a time when Australian drama production was rare. "Official" television broadcasting in the city had only begun two months earlier. There seems to have been a Melbourne production and a Sydney production, as happened with ''The Twelve Pound Look''. Plot The original TV listing in ''The Age'' newspaper described the plot as "a woman's reactions to her husband's suspected affair with another woman".
