Holiday Showcase
The ''Holiday Showcase'' was an annual musical holiday stage show presented at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. It was put on by the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and featured Cirque du Soleil. The Program 2006 The Phantom of the Opera star, Doug LaBrecque hosted the first Holiday Showcase at the newly opened Sears Centre in 2006. It featured the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Cirque du Soleil aerialists, and a chorus of over 400. The one-night event was a success leading to the Holiday Showcase continuing the next two years. 2007 Reflecting on the prior year's Holiday Showcase, music director of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra Robert Hanson stated, "The move to the Sears Centre came about when an ESO Elgin Symphony Orchestra board member, who also is a Sears Centre board member, suggested we consider having our holiday show at the Sears Centre." Hoffman Estates, Illinois
Hoffman Estates is a village in Illinois, United States. The village is located primarily in Cook County, with a small section in Kane County. It is a suburb of Chicago. Per the 2020 census, the population was 52,530. The village now serves as the headquarters for Sears and the American headquarters for Mori Seiki. The village owns Now Arena, home of the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League. In 2009, the village hosted the Heartland International Tattoo, one of the largest music and dance festivals of its kind in the Midwest. History Prior to the 1940s, German settlers moved into the area west of Roselle Road and north of Golf Road, then known as Wildcat Grove. Cirque du Soleil (, ; "Circus of the Sun" or "Sun Circus") is a Canadian entertainment company and the largest contemporary circus producer in the world. Jodi Marie Benson (née Marzorati; born October 10, 1961) is an American actress and singer. The Elgin Symphony Orchestra is a regional orchestra founded and headquartered in Elgin, Illinois. Its Music Director is Andrew Grams, who was named the 2015 Conductor of the Year by the Illinois Council of Orchestras. Denis Alexandrovich Petukhov (russian: Денис Александрович Петухов; born October 6, 1978) is a retired Russian-American ice dancer. With his wife Melissa Gregory, he is the 2005 Four Continents silver medalist, a 2006 United States Olympic team member, and a four-time (2004–07) U.S. national silver medalist. Sears Centre
The Now Arena (originally known as the Sears Centre, Sears Centre Arena and stylized as NOW Arena) is a multi-purpose arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a northwest suburb from Chicago, near land which formerly contained the Poplar Creek Music Theater. Since 2016, the arena has been home to the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls' affiliate in the NBA G League.
