Holger Stahlknecht
Holger Stahlknecht (born 13 November 1964) is a German lawyer and politician of the CDU who was the State Minister of Internal Affairs in the government of Minister-President Reiner Haseloff of Saxony-Anhalt from 2011 until 2020. Early life and education Stahlknecht was born in 1964 in Hanover and studied law at Osnabrück University and Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal. Political career Stahlknecht joined the CDU in 2000. Börde (german: Landkreis Börde) is a district in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. Its seat is the town Haldensleben. It takes its name from the natural region Magdeburg Börde. It is the site of the Morsleben radioactive waste repository. The disposal of waste into the facility ended in 1998. Geography The Börde district covers the area west of the city of Magdeburg. With an area of , it is the second-largest district of Saxony-Anhalt. The 2002 Saxony-Anhalt state election was held on 21 April 2002 to elect the members of the 4th Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt. The incumbent Social Democratic Party (SPD) minority government led by Minister-President Reinhard Höppner was defeated.
