Nancy Holder (born August 29, 1953) is an American writer and the author of several novels, including numerous tie-in books based on the TV series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV series), Buffy the Vampire Slayer''. She's also written fiction related to several other science fiction and fantasy shows, including ''Angel (1999 TV series), Angel'' and ''Smallville (TV series), Smallville''. Holder is a four-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award for superior achievement in horror fiction, horror writing. She won Best Short Story in 1991 for "Lady Madonna," in 1993 for "I Hear the Mermaids Singing," and in 1994 for "Cafe Endless: Spring Rain." She won Best Novel in 1994 for ''Dead in the Water''. John Holder (cricketer)
John Wakefield Holder (born 19 March 1945 in Superlative, Saint George, Barbados) is an English former first-class cricketer and Test umpire. As a player for Hampshire County Cricket Club (1968–1972) Holder was a brisk right arm medium pace bowler. In the 1970 season, Holder took 55 wickets at 23.27 runs. His best bowling figures were 6 for 49 and 7 for 79 against Gloucestershire in 1972. In 1972, Holder also took a hat-trick against Kent. His career average as a bowler saw him take 139 first-class wickets at 24.56. Holder became a first-class umpire in 1983 and was promoted to officiate his first test-match in 1988. He stood as umpire in eleven Test matches and nineteen One Day Internationals. Holder was appointed by the International Cricket Council as one of five worldwide regional umpires' performance managers and is responsible for monitoring and improving the performances of umpires in Europe, the Caribbean, America and Canada. Edward Catchpole Holder (26 July 1908 – 2 July 1974) was a New Zealand rugby union and rugby league player. A Rugby union positions#Three-quarters, three-quarter, Holder represented the Buller Rugby Union at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national rugby union side, the All Blacks, in 1932 and 1934. He played 10 matches for the All Blacks including one international. After missing selection for the 1935 All Black tour to Britain, Holder switched to rugby league and played in England, first for Streatham and Mitcham R.L.F.C., Streatham and Mitcham and then for Wigan Warriors, Wigan. He was subsequently reinstated to rugby union during World War II. Ludwig Otto Hölder (December 22, 1859 – August 29, 1937) was a German mathematician born in Stuttgart. Early life and education Hölder was the youngest of three sons of professor Otto Hölder (1811–1890), and a grandson of professor Christian Gottlieb Hölder (1776–1847); his two brothers also became professors. He first studied at the ''Polytechnikum'' (which today is the University of Stuttgart) and then in 1877 went to Berlin where he was a student of Leopold Kronecker, Karl Weierstrass, and Ernst Kummer. Joseph Bassett Holder (1824–1888) was an American zoologist and physician. Holder was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, October 26, 1824 to parents Aaron L. and Rachel Bassett Holder. His mother was a Quaker minister.
